Spurs won NLD....

Honestly one of the worse NLD in years from 2 jaded teams. Its no wonder they r mid-table now.

Spurs full backs used to be the best in EPL. Rose. Walker. Tripps. All gone. Midfield of Spurs gone. No bite. Mossa Dembele badly missed and proven irreplaceable.

Gooners err, Luiz n their defence gifted Spurs...

Spurs no longer nice to watch, playing long ball, counter attacks. Gave Arsenal loads of processions esp 2nd half. But Spurs lucky, soak him and wait for Arsenal to self destruct.

Appointment of JM to be Spurs Mgr was not the right fit due to his style of football and outdated methods but Levy pressed on to appoint him largely due his track record of winning trophies in all the clubs he has managed before. In short, Levy went to bed with JM thinking that once the first silverware was won, the reasonably talented Spurs squad would push on for a run at the title, UCL etc.

Alas for them, JM being the difficult and stubborn Mgr he is negated Spurs style of play without much success in return. JM had claimed he was a changed person after his experiences at Man United but a leopard doesn't change its spots. Think Spurs would have been better off with Poch at the helm. In my opinion, the 2 North London giants with tight purse strings at both clubs are in danger of being left behind. The big 6 will be the big 4 next season with both United and Chelsea strengthening. My 2 cents.......

It's not how much possession you have

it's how many goals you score.

:D

Yes this possession mantra was pioneered by Pep during his Barca days but I think he has realized esp after coming to EPL that possession doesn't win u games. It's goals that do.

In fact in EPL, Stoke with their long throws, physical approach, Burnley with their long ball, direct style and many other similarly so called less talented teams each with their unique approach has challenged n upset the cultured teams. U don't have to play the beautiful game to be successful, u play to your players strengths.

Its what u do with your procession.

Simply hitting around in your own 1/2 is meaningless.

When u had a chance for a fast break but risk losing the ball.

Choosing that to passing sideway or behind to.keep the ball.

It make alot of different..

Pools dun have the best procession i believe. But every time they had. It very dangerous.

They dun didilali on the ball

That's the beauty of the EPL.

The richest teams with all the most expensive skillful players don't always win.

It can be the less skilled teams that put in the most effort that wins.

That's why fans only complain if their team didn't "show character" and lost.

Yes agreed on the beauty of EPL.

Pep was sarcastic when he was interviewed during his first season in EPL. I remember he was smarting when a TV interviewer suggested that the "best league in the World" was unforgiving and teaching his more cultured City side a lesson or two. Instead, he was adamant in reply with " What do u know about Bundesliga, La Liga etc"

Proclaiming EPL is the best league in the World is admittedly subjective but the proud Catalan refused to acknowledge that so called primitive, physical and unattractive ways have a place in modern football. Other top European Leagues do not have this kind of diversity hence his refusal to accept these methods. He even pointed to the sky after a Burnley match suggesting the ball was up in the air more than on the ground whilst shaking his head at the same time.

I'm glad though that his is now more humble and accepting of the tactics which makes the EPL a different beauty altogether. And yes effort has to be recognised and not just sublime skill and flair.

In Germany BM win everything and always buys up all the best players from the smaller teams.

BD is not rich like BM but Klopp plays his heavy metal football to compete with them.

In Spain RM and Barca win everything so Pep never really had to "compete".

This season with Pool ahead so far Pep has to do some soul searching and rethink his philosophy

and spend another billion to keep up with Pool.

For many managers in the EPL its not Pep that's manager of the year its Chris Wilder.

Yes Wilder has performed beyond the wildest imagination possible, pun intended😊

His limited squad has overachieved and credit to him for playing 3 at the back with overlapping CBs, almost unheard of tactics. The bigger boys often struggled against the Blades and they are now on the verge of European football with UEL spot within reach so Wilder deserves a Mgr of the Year award for sure but if not, he at least deserves an honorable mention for sure[thumbsup]

Great news man c europe.ban over turn.

No back door for chelsea man u and lei.

🤣

As much as I would like to see perpetrators being punished, didn’t quite like the idea that a 5th place team could get into UCL via the back door. As for City, I dont hv much info on why they were let off. I trust the Courts ruled fairly on this but I also wonder what a blow this would be to UEFA’s FFP efforts?

City can get away scot free, not even a fine? How ridiculous it can be? It make one club happy and the rest unhappy ! The Court of Arbitration For Sport ( CAS ) can overruled everything, ( Just look at who is the Owner of City ) case closed, if one has million of Pounds, words speak louder.

Such a high profile case since 2012-2016, the breaches has been long running saga, why drag till now came the verdict as City failed to corporate with the investigation, More wayang than GE ? Don't you agree ?

There is a lowed fine. But its peanuts for man c.

Anw for netural like me i welcome it.

It fact i am against the ffp from the very start.

And there is alot of controvsial regrading man c 2 year ban.

It how they account for their investment. Apparently man c boss use a black door method of creating many companys that give sponscership to man c.

It black door . Every 1 know it. And every rich club use it. Thats why the ruling is over turn. As long as they got the paperwork done right

Ac milan new chinese owner invested too much and didnt do the paper work correctly. And they got banned.

Sasikumar shared on radio that sheikh mansour makes 115k per min. So the 9mil fine would be cleared in 80mins with change.

Less than time for regulation football.

Poor wenger,  tie his own hands and legs to fulfill ffp, only for legacy to be squandered by current generation.

Heard gunners extended DL for one more year. Want to attract mcdonalds to sponsor is it?

still got 10mins of time of a 90mins soccer game. Insane cash. haha.

TBH, man city got lucky. Monies really makes the world goes round. For years I had scorn for this method, but I tink I turning to the dark side. I hope Spurs get a Sheikh, splash the dough freely even though it sounds so sinful

The actual reasons why CAS overruled UEFA will only be known in a week's time or so but from what i read, City got away with a technicality.

Firstly, there was insufficient conclusive evidence on the alleged offences and also the alleged breaches were time barred (past the 5yr statute of limitations). So whilst City won the appeal, it was not a moral one.

UEFA will need to re-word/tighten their FFP rules and it just goes to show that a team of highly paid lawyers can overturn a ruling if u have not done the legal work properly. Although UEFA started the investigations before the 5yr period was up, they only commenced prosecution after the 5yr deadline hence the technicality.

I am for the spirit of FFP but not how it is implemented. U shouldn't penalise rich owners from splashing $ but instead ensure that clubs spending $ actually have the cash and not put the debt against club assets but admittedly policing this is easier said than done. John Barnes suggested having a salary cap instead of FFP.
