U shouldn't penalise rich owners from splashing $ but instead ensure that clubs spending $ actually have the cash and not put the debt against club assets but admittedly policing this is easier said than done. John Barnes suggested having a salary cap instead of FFP.

exactly. if new owner are not allow to spend to buy new player . which big boss would buy a football club. they would rather buy clubs from other sport.

if this happen, what are the chances of a small club rubbing shoulder with the big boys?? we wont have city chelsea in the UCL, winning EPL. we wont have big 4 , big 6 or even big 8 in epl.

forever it would be those few clubs.

its exactly what clubs like real . barc wanted.

ffp if anything, should check on stuff like the cash injected into the foot ball clubs is clean or not . no dirty business like money laundrying etc etc.

if some rich guy want to throw his billions into a small clubs and make it big, he should have all the support instead of restriction.

salary cap is a very good ideal. but i doubt it will get a go ahead

still got 10mins of time of a 90mins soccer game. Insane cash. haha.

TBH, man city got lucky. Monies really makes the world goes round. For years I had scorn for this method, but I tink I turning to the dark side. I hope Spurs get a Sheikh, splash the dough freely even though it sounds so sinful

With all due respect and as I've mentioned before, the clubs and their supporters who make noise about City, PSG splashing cash come from the "old boys gang" of established clubs. They don't want new clubs gate crashing the elite.

They stand on moral high ground that they earned their $ n were not funded by sugar daddy but this rings hollow to me cos these established clubs were successful earlier hence they had built their fan base, became successful commercially and $ then flows in easily unlike new clubs trying to rub shoulders with the elite.

If u touch your heart, I'm sure like almost all fans, u won't mind a sugar daddy buying your club provided he has the club's interest at heart so new owners splashing $ with good intentions shld not be penalised but why FFP is needed is to ensure spending doesn't ruin clubs by forking non existent $ (Leeds used future earnings but it nvr came when they failed to qualify for UCL) or loans for that matter.

Not easy to come out with rules on this obviously. So spirit of FFP is correct but the implementation needs tweaking.

But if u ask me as a leeds fan since lee chapman Gary speed gordon starchan.

The bad finance planning kill us. But it give us our glory days also. Those days when we roar when mark viduka wack 4 pass pools. When tony yeboha fire rockets into goals. We had our good times. I really dun mind 1 bit.

Think back if we cut off all the spending play safe. For ever a middle  table club trying to survive in epl whats the point.

I rather we go all out with a bang.

(They will be back next season🤣)

To be fair to the authorities, there must be some financial control. U don’t want a situation where bad owners spend recklessly n put a football club out of business so FFP was put into place to prevent these kind of situations.

It shouldn’t be to reign in responsible owners who genuinely have the $ n want to build a strong playing squad but admittedly it’s difficult to police. Going back to Leeds, whilst it maybe exciting for fans like yourself, it was poor financial planning ie using potential future UCL money to buy players. They confidently thought that with better players, qualification for UCL would be achieved n so pay for the players. This nearly bankrupted Leeds n caused them years in the Championship. Financial recklessness if u ask me.

So once again I say, the spirit of FFP is correct but the established clubs hv a different FFP agenda ie to close the door to their exclusivity. They don’t want gate crashers to their exclusive club. City n PSG are unwelcome!

Blackburn was not about irresponsible owner but more that the owner couldn’t sustain funding the club or maybe he had other interests. There in lies the difficulty, how to sieve out who is genuine n who is not?

UEFA decided to hv a FFP framework that only counts $ earned as recognised income which in theory is correct but like any business, u need to fork out $ at the start n only recoup it back in latter years. In other words, u hv to invest first so that the returns can come in later when your team is successful but with this tight framework, how do non elite clubs ever get successful if they are restricted in forking out $?

They were bought over by an Indian chicken company and no one heard about them since.

Blackburn bought over by Indian chicken company.

One minute selling chicken, next minute managing football club.

Its a very different kind of bird really so they didn't have a clue.

They had their feathers ruffled and lost their feathers over the deal.

At the end of the day all they had to show for their efforts was one big egg.

You can say they ended up with egg on their faces really.

I happy Man City play in CL.

If no CL they will go all out for EPL.

Harder for Pool to retain title.

Real no money because of covid.

Mane will be at Pool for a long time.

Salah also told Mane not to go.

He told him they will break your arm.

Ya I think Real can't fork out this kind of money, Barca n BM also. In fact no club bar perhaps City n PSG can afford to spend $.

Chelsea to a lesser extent may also be able to fork out $ but not astronomical sums. This is due to them not able to spend in 2 tfr windows and they also sold players like Hazard and Morata.

there is alot of talk beginning of the year around march i think.

of real going for a crazy bid for mane, then the virus come.

if they concentrate their whole year burget for 1 mane, they can afford it easily i think

Real are stuck with players like James and Bale with high salaries and they can't get much $ for them possibly due to their age and loss of form. I seriously doubt if they can afford big signings this summer but we shall see.

Luka Jovic another big money signing not doing well at Real though he is young so may attract some buyers.

Maybe City and PSG also less money now.
