Turbocharged

Haha wah, 2 year or 34k !!! Sounds like endless of driving to go. Really got improvement.

Was skeptical before also. I changed out earlier at 30k.

Butt felt no diff after new oil went in.

The service guy said don't need to worry in this. JLR won't dare to fake this unless they want to get into lawsuits worldwide.

Most Improved

1. Mercedes - A, B, C, E, G classes are all winners....ask any car buyer, I bet 9/10 wanted one if they stroked Toto

2. Volvo - Specs wise no horses run, and their new cars are beautiful too

3. Geely - Yes I am not joking, just google what they are selling in China, they have been making very good acquisition in overseas that rose the eye brow...Merc and Volvo included....as for proton...it's more for Lotus brand imo

4. Tesla - Yes, this is the future if they can turn profitable....I also want one if our import are selling at US pricing

5. Mazda - I never like Mazda for the past but the last one year I change my mind, having seen and test drove one, if I ever buying another car, it will be Mazda 3 or an MX as second car if I tio ToTo

6. Harrier - I was one of the prettiest mid-tier SUV for the last 3 to 4 years until BM bueh Tahan that decided to bringing in the Face-lift model for SG/MY speak for itself

Most disappointing

1. All the Japanese brand except Mazda - Seriously...from Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi to Nissan, there is nothing exciting...nothing that I want even if I have 150k to spare....they still believe in bread and butter mode but that segment is saturated with Korean and even entry level continentals now...we want noodle from Japanese, can or not?

2. Korean - It bloom like K pop but just fee-zed out like any pop culture...they need to reinvent themselves instead of wholesale copy cating others....btw I tot I saw a Maserati at Tuas Jam last week...alas it was an Stinger...what the hax [:p]

subaru brz is a fun car...

and Toyota 2019 supra.

mitsubishi is big in Indonesia.... because they focused on off road cars...

Mazda engines r the worse among the Japanese.... skyshi++y... i drove one for 2 years.

most improve car to me is china car, look at chery then and now.

almost 500% different in look and quality [;)]

I would agree, epecially the Chery Arrizo 5, which looks splendid for a Chinese car, considering the crap they were building just up to 8 years ago.

With interested dealers and supportive manafacturer, especially with a low price, it might take away sales of established sellers, for those at low end of the market, where there's little market loyalty.

Given that its predcessor the J3 has an omv of $6900, this car should estimate to have an omv of $8000

Basic cost: (8000)+(8000×1.27)+220+32000(COE)+7500(margins)

It should come out to about 60k for a car with 6 airbags, touchscreen, leatherseats as standard.

Their Tiggo 3x(1.5NA) should sell at 55k as entry model (omv :5k)

Similarly, their 7 seater Tiggo 8 (1.6T) should sell at 80 to 85k, while the Arrizo Gx should sell at 70k.

The above two are cat A vehicles while the bottom two are cat B vehicles

Might eat some of the Mitsubishi Attrage's lunch though.

The more complicated a car is,

the less reliable it is, with more points of failure.

Yup. A car without power steering, ABS, Aircon, exhaust , suspension etc will be most reliable.

???

Not necessary ah. Build quality matters too. Last time British cars also very simple, but also break down often.

Lada was once one of the simplest car in SGP and has got the highest breakdown rate as well.

Huh first time hear car without exhaust and suspension??

A car that couldn't even get started will not breakdown.

I started looking at kia during the 2008 kia Cerato forte and koupe era. Later K3 kinda disappointing. But their Optima saved their days. Unfortunately, car models that are during K3 and Optima era were simply too expensive.. Even the elantra 2011 to 2014 era was over 110k..

Right car at the wrong time.. At the wrong place...

Prices started from $143K for the base model Elantra, up to $149K for the top end model in Dec 2012.

That makes cars seem so CHEAP today at 1/2 the price

i can't decide which brand has improved the most

but i feel Mitsubishi and nissan have deteriorated the most

Nissan: apart from qashqai, hardly see any new nissan on the road, sylphy and x trail can't compete in their own segment

mitsubishi: totally give up on sedan (left a tin can attrage) yet their suv aren't selling well

Agree hands down.

Next one comes to mind behind Nissan and Mitsubishi is Suzuki.

Other brands are trying to improve, esp. Mazda. Even Subaru. KIA and Hyundai too, needless to say.

Mitsubishi has a sad presence in Singapore due to our COE/Tax regime.

In Malaysia/Thailand, Mitsubishi has Triton, Pajero Sports & Outlander.

Proton big car as good as last generation Accord and Perodua is as good as any Daihatsu.

The Myvi is not even a rebadged Daihatsu. It's completely designed in house.

I would he happy to drive a Proton or Perodua these days.

The least improved car brand has got to be Perodua and Proton.  After making cars for decades still cannot sell abroad but need protectionism to sustain it, shows how much this two brands have failed and fallen behind.

Perodua MYVI is exported to Indonesia as Daihatsu Sirion.

Perodua Bezza is exported to Pakistan as Toyota Etios.
