I know how to stop used car dealers clocking cars.

Seller clock the car before selling to the used car dealer.

10 years 38k km.

What is the us e car dealer going to do?  Clock to 28k km?

:D

I am not taking the side of these dealers.

I am looking at it from our financial system stability perspective.

Probably adjust to 18k coz they can't help themselves and it's industry practice (apparently)

They will say owner frequent travel overseas so car always parked in shelter, washed daily, service every month and warn buyer to be careful of high mileage car....lol

I have never been a willing buyer.

I buy car and honestly reluctantly pay for COE,  road tax,  dealers margins, ERP,  even car park coupon and high petrol prices.

Very reluctantly.

I can only conclude COE is definitely coming down and their margins are very good.

Neutral Newbie

It's common for used car dealers to drive the used cars on sale, at random  for their own use. I suppose it's to keep the car in running condition, else more problem will occur if it's sitting at the showroom unused for months.

Anyway, the used car is probably trashed by its previous owner before handover.
