Tuchel is making Chelsea play a more possession based game n also they have become defensively more solid but the price for this is a lack of goals as they are not so adventurous n free flowing unlike the Lampard days. Their run of recent fixtures has been kind to them as well so we shall see if they really hv turned the corner when Man United come to the Bridge next weekend.

Beneficiaries under Tuchel are Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Hudson-Odoi, Alonso, Jorginho and Kovacic whilst the losers are Ziyech, Pulisic, Zouma, Chilwell and to a lesser extent Kante as well. Different Mgrs got different ideas so up to the players to prove they can adjust to new Mgr's ways.

Under JM, Spurs play a more pragmatic style of play which has always been a Mourinho trait. It worked well when Kane and Son were firing and they were the ideal front 2 for counter attacks. Once Kane got injured and also opponents became wise to this tactic, they regressed.

JM is targeting the Carabao Cup as his trump card to break the silverware hoodoo. He will also go all out for UEL as a means to get into UCL next season. So all is not lost but I can understand your frustration and JM is lucky that Spurs stadium is closed else the supporters would be voicing their displeasure at this pragmatic approach as the Spurs tradition has always been attacking, flowing football.

In fact chelsea next game away to saints will be extremely tough,

saints lost 6 in a roll. i can imagine the fight they will put up............

Lots of possession but lack of cutting edge. Similar problem for Chelsea under Tuchel since he took over and not very far off Lampard's Chelsea but definitely more organized under the German. 4th spot is really up for grabs so whoever can conjure up a consistent run will prevail.

Top 4 teams City, United, Leicester and West Ham won over the weekend n slowly pulling away from the rest. The first 3 seems consistent n perhaps only West Ham could be reeled back but they dont hv European football to get distracted n also with them out of both domestic Cups as well,  big advantage there for the Hammers. Hv to credit Moyes for steering them so high up and they have also made astute signings in Soucek, Dawson and Benhrama. Antonio also on fire!

the problem with chelsea is quite clear cut,

their inability to score from outside the box. 

they really miss lampa , william , pedro , hazard, those days , these player can get past defender and curl 1 in when team decided to sit back and park the bus.

i cannot even remember when is the last time we manage to do this............

Pool in real free fall. I had confidently posted form is temporary whilst class is permanent but I'm not so sure now.

I thought it was due to the horrific defensive injury crisis they are facing which meant the midfielders had to play as defenders n this altered the shape of the team n in turn meant the attack suffered n not so free flowing as before. But I think it's more to it than this. Confidence is definitely one issue but the other issue could be the style of "gegen press" which Klopp so loves has taken its toll on the team after few seasons of doing this. Klopp had the same issue at Dortmund after few seasons so perhaps its history repeating itself?

Our 3 central defenders crocked. So the two holding midfielders Hendo and Fab go into CD and now both also crocked.

So none of the 3 CDs available and our defence suffer and no Fab and Hendo in MF so no drive forwards and no shielding the CBs.

So no attack, no defence and no wins.

It's not confidence we need it's fit players.

there are some report that kloop want koulibaly, but the board refuse. napoli wanted 90m.

then pool went to get 2 temp cheap defender whom kloop got no confident to field them,,

i think hazard transfer to real is 1 of the worst deal ever.

the money chelsea receive is not able to buy player that can replace him,

he cannot recover his form with real.

negative for all 3 party.....

Arsenal being criticized for rewarding Aubameyang with a big contract and now he has loss form, Gunners Board being whacked. I pity Arsenal as they were pressed by experts and fans alike to give Aubameyang what he wanted which to be fair, they went out of their way to do so but now on hindsight, it seems its the wrong move. He has been a poor shadow of himself just like Ozil when he signed his big contract extension. Gunners also signed Willian n Pepe on big contracts but they have both looked average at best.

Instead, the youngsters Saka n Smith Rowe together with Tierney hv been the revelations at Emirates. So it doesn't always pay to reward stars as the younger players are hungrier.

I am one of the biggest critics of owners who are tight fisted but to sign Koulibaly at that price with him almost 30yrs is madness so I agree with FSG on this. We read mixed msgs from Klopp cos during the close season, he was all praise for FSG and supported being prudent due to the Covid pandemic but now it seems he is critical so I don't know which report  to believe.

I have always advocated Champions need to add 1-2 signings if anything, to keep existing players on their toes and not to be complacent. To be fair, Pool did add Jota and Thiago but they made the mistake of having only 3 CBs in their squad when most teams hv 4. To compound matters, all 3 became injured. so it's partly bad luck but also partly poor planning on Pool's part. City made the same mistake the previous season when Kompany left and was not replaced. Fernandinho like Henderson filled the CB position n his loss in midfeld was felt.

As for Hazard, yes it was a lose lose situation for all parties. That's football for u unfortunately.
