Be careful what you wish for. The perception from hiring managers is once you do grab, you typically are in semi retirement and have a layback attitude. They would preferred to hire someone who is still in the chosen choice of field.

RCEP is also another FTA.

I suppose the single worrying factor is more of how the resources are been complemented. 
 

in China case, most of the people who are from the outside coming into the job market are required to do 2 in a box program. Meaning, the existing pool of people are not skilled enough for the job snd there is a shadowing of the resource to help groom the internal staff as well as a validation that the staff has glemm the knowledge .

but in sg case , unless we rethink the notion of “nobody owes you a living “

we will be in a sorry state of everyone for themselves and go into a blame game when we are been displaced. 
 

with facts n figures showing you graduate from the top 11 uni in the world. You be pretty hard press to accept that a ranking of 150 or more world wide is doing better snd earning better than yourself. It becomes a very bitter pill to swallow and you go into self doubt.

Like many other initiatives, in the beginning the idea is good, but then when comes to implementation, it's poorly done, everyone sleeping on the job and the top is not monitoring properly. Sounds familiar?

This one is quite a simple circuit - connect power to lines of LEDs  It's not some high-tech.

Only when go overseas , have free time to dabble in it. Over here, we may have the knowledge but no energy/time left or garage space (what is a garage??) to engage in such things.

By the way, long ago our technical educational institutions used to have these kinds of hands-on like making printed circuit boards, but now all swept away as "unsexy" and also need resources to maintain the equipment not to mention proper storage and disposal of the chemicals. And parents don't want their kids to go into these manufacturing type of skill education. All want to sit in aircon office, type on keyboard.

Anyway, as the creator of the SMRT line PCB mentioned, these days you can just send your PCB design to 3rd party manufacturers, and the boards get mailed back to you all nicely done for a small fee. The idea / conceptualization is most important, while the actual manufacturing can be done cheaply elsewhere by someone else.
