Ender Hypersonic July 26, 2021 Share July 26, 2021 (edited) Lai liao, easing of rule to be reviewed in mid August will be meant for the vaccinated only. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/covid-19-phase-2-ha-early-august-vaccinated-travel-lawrence-wong-15298016 COVID-19 restrictions to be reviewed in early August, any easing only for vaccinated people: Lawrence Wong SINGAPORE: Singapore will review some COVID-19 restrictions early next month, but any easing of measures will be only for vaccinated people who are “much better protected” against the virus, said co-chair of the multi-ministry task force Lawrence Wong. Delivering a ministerial statement in Parliament on Monday (Jul 26), Mr Wong said the task force will assess the overall infection situation in early August, at the mid-point of Phase 2 (Heightened Alert). By then, two-thirds of the population and three-quarters of those aged 70 and above would have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, said Mr Wong, who is also Finance Minister. “So if the clusters are under control, and hospitalisation rates remain low, we will be able to ease some of the Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) measures,” he said. “But the easing will be differentiated and extended to only vaccinated persons, because they are much better protected against the effects of the virus.” This means that people who want to dine in at a restaurant or exercise in a gym will have to be fully vaccinated. The same goes for those who want to attend a large event or religious service with more than 100 people, Mr Wong said. Stary Turbocharged July 26, 2021 Share July 26, 2021 (edited) Don't discriminate la..... These elderly people are the ones that built Singapore......they are the ones who created the good environment for everyone to have a better life. And now, because they choose to unvax due to fear of complications and we wanna discriminate them with restrictions? cannot treat them like that la Edited July 26, 2021 by Starry 5

All above 70 at vaccination centre get 3 big sweep tickets with each jab. Sure will be a draw
13177 Hypersonic July 26, 2021 Share July 26, 2021 (edited) No vaccine cannot go eat in restaurant? So can only eat in hawker centre and kopitiam? This is depressing le. They want to achieve their vaccine kpi also dont do until like this la. 😅 Then those who signed up 2 years of gym membership, if no vaccine cannot go gym, can refund bo? 🤣 Edited July 26, 2021 by 13177 1

Some will go vax, some more motivated to stay un-vax cos now got good reason not to attend weddings, corporate dinners, entertain clients, attend relative dinners, or even go church......lol Edited July 26, 2021 by Starry
Freeder Hypersonic July 26, 2021 Share July 26, 2021 Instead of targeting only sinkies, we should look closely at incoming South Asians from now on... No point containing local transmission but importing new Delta variants daily... Don’t let the CB CECA treaty undone all the hardwork and risks taken by our frontline workers.. 3

Sorrie i think not under their kpi. Lol. They already say clearly when borders reopened, sure will have imported cases and also community cases, but we should not look at this new cases number but should look at how many hospitalised numbers and serious cases?! 😅

So they may need to increase price on the vax diners in order to sustain their business. Becareful what we wish for........ Tianmo Hypersonic July 26, 2021 Share July 26, 2021 I think this mid term easing (if it happens) would only last till 18 Aug. After that they will have to adjust accordingly to what is happening on the ground and how the numbers and clusters are showing. With a higher than desire numbers, yes they can do this, in the name of safety, but as we move towards opening up, we can't keep those non vaccinated away from the economic for too long I think...
Kb27 Supersonic July 26, 2021 Share July 26, 2021 this is a good way to encourage those who refuse to take vaccine. why should the vaccinated take the risk from those unvaccinated when in a crowded area ? and remember those who are unvaccinated can infect your loved ones at home, your little children, who are still not eligible to be vaccinated. Eh vaccinated individuals can spread among themselves so even if a group is 100% vaccinated, no guarantee that the virus is not spreading. And virus spread among vaccinated adults can still infect the unvaccinated like children.
Ender Hypersonic July 26, 2021 Share July 26, 2021 Maybe they should delay this measure till Novavax is available for the national vaccination program. Some are not antiVax, but wary of mRNA vaccine unknown ong term side effects

Also they don’t know when will Novavax come, so cannot wait liao. So think this is a brilliant way of hard selling to push all those who are unvacc to go jab now. So as per their usual style and tactics, they would say something that people hear liao will scare esp scare to be leftout.😅 ↡ Advertisement
