She thanked the public for their support and understanding while the police investigations were going on. "I am very grateful for it. I will do my best to pay it forward and continue to use my voice in Parliament to speak frankly and responsibly on important issues."

This isn't her first brush she has with the police. Just last year, the comments she made on the police having discriminatory treatment against the minority already landed her in hot soup. Now it's a false accusation on discrimination against a victim of a serious sexual crimes. I am not sure why she has such a vendetta against the police officers. But to make such a serious allegation, one should not be a straw man. 

The police force of today is made of a good balance of officers from diverse racial backgrounds, and a good number from both genders. Though it's possible for isolated cases of discrimination to happen in any organisation, a widespread culture is just impossible with several key figures in the police force who are non-Chinese and females.

If there are indeed isolated incidents that are not pervasive, she can just email to the ministers directly for them to follow up.. rather then to raise it as an issue in parliament to stir up unnecessary emotions and perceptions. Should the time in government be about bringing up isolated incidents of seeing someone litter or not wearing a mask in public?

MPs are voted in to voice out important issues and WP MPs have generally done well. However, an MP has to decide when issues should be macro or micro managed and failing to do so using the right channels can land one in some serious crap like this.

The saving grace now is for pitram to take the first legal step against her before anyone else.   

Is cruel but that is how politics work.

Once she "volunteered" or "forced" to step down will there be any by election?

Is a make or break for pitram as well. How he handle the situation will spell how the opposition route in the coming election.

Pitram need to take the responsibility to certain extent. He is the leader of WP and Leader of opposition. Same we always want PAP to be accountable.

I think there should be, but it's the ruling party that Must take the lead, cos they been playing it for gain the most.

Some things once done, is irreversible or worse, no turning back. Her credibility is now ZERO. And her GRC team, together with WP's credibility have taken a HUGE dent.

Internally can only censure her, but ultimately the parliamentary proceedings will continue. Just cut her loose. Mistakes are mistakes, LIES is a totally different thing altogether. Whatever she said in the past and in future will forever be tainted. Will take a loooong loooong time to recover. HAIZ

And like it or not... if she were a man.

He will be considered unfit for national... or maybe any level... leadership. May not be fair.. but it's a fact.

I dare not talk about other woman during bedtime...my wife won't allow or I'd have to sing OnlyYou till dawn or she falls asleep whichever cums first 😂

To me , the seriousness of the matter is not so much that  she lied, but the vicious intent of harming the reputation of the police force, the exact people who are protecting you and me, this country. From this you can tell that her past derogatory race remarks were likely intended to create hatred towards particular race. How can this type of person continue to be a MP ?  I dread to think what will happen if she didn't get caught this time. Geesh.
