Possible to Trade in Brand New Tyres after Car Collection?

After waiting for delivery for a few months, car is finally delivering soon. However, I don’t like the stock 19 inch run flat tyres that the car is going to be delivered with, due to the noise and harshness. I’m actually thinking of changing to normal Michelin on day of collection.

Anyone knows of any shops that are willing to take in the (almost) brand new tyres as trade in, if I get the new tyres from them? Will be good even if it’s just getting a couple hundred bucks back.

Why not ask the dealer to fix the tyres you desire?

Already checked, they only have run-flats.

I drove down to south east immediately after collection, got a few hundred off new tires. Other shops should do similar too bah

I think most tyres shop should be able to? Like Kim Hoe Tyres etc. Contact them before you go down.

2years ago. I did call them to check availability of the tyres I want, but they will not quote trade in over the phone

Try and sell on carousel, you will likely get better prices, state you are new car owner and don’t want the new tyres that comes with your ride. There could be those who buy similar car or tyre profile wanting to take over after wearing theirs out.

 

Especially if yours are run flat which are more expensive than regular tyres.

most shop will trade in, even your rims. 

But dun expect to get selling price for your trade in .

Years ago, I immediately drove to Bendemeer Rd after collecting my Honda Fit to replace the stock 4 x 14" on steel with 15" set on alloys. The traded in price was only about $100 if I remember correctly. But your 19" run-flats should be able to fetch higher price.  😁

Get onto the local WhatsApp/Telegram/etc. social media pages stating you’re looking to sell your new tires, should have owners interested to meet you halfway between shop’s selling price vs trade in price. Labour should be Dutch. Then you can buy whatever tire you desire.

That’s normal, everyone wants to buy low, sell high.

I thought you wanted to maximize value, hence provided that suggestion. Another way is just give it for free to the shop, they would be very happy. 

Personally I would not trade in a run flat for regular tires. The value is really very different.

Is the car on std or M Sport suspension?

If std suspension, juz under inflate by 2psi to counter the harder ride

Trade in you'll get pittance for it compared to what new 19" RFTs are worth
