Choices for a family sized SUV - just sharing my search

The Peugeot EV 2008 was delightful in its ambience and interior spaciousness. The car presents a stance akin to a confident feline ready to pounce. The 9s acceleration time is impressive and it appears to be quite capable at darting nimbly between traffic lights.

The interior presentation appeals to the feminine sensibilities as well as having lever like buttons that recall an old school rugged charm.

The wow for the driver is the 3d presentation of driving parameters. The colors are vivid and sharp.

The steering wheel has all the required buttons and nobbly bits. The F1 like wheel is nice, it does not protrude over the dash. This appeals subconsciously and is quite nice.

The infotainment interface is easy to use with a choice of multiple European languages, the inclusion of far east or south asian languages would have been nice. Perhaps a download update maybe available in the future.

Batter?😁

One bro made reference of my england to that of Datsun.

Now I feel kind of resentment to that statement.

No hard feelings there....Datsun.

Nice review

The French make cars with a nice first impression, I guess the main issue is how does it all hold together after 5 or 6 years...

IIRC, spares are even more costly than a Merc?

Yes cause hardly anyone brings it in. For Mercedes the Daimler parts warehouse for South east Asia and ANZ is in tuas. If I’m not wrong bmw one is in JB.
I used to pull parts from the Daimler warehouse directly within 2days for expedited shipment.
if the tuas warehouse does not have then it is from the German warehouse. I got my front anti roll bar from German around 7-8days.

C&C is also an authorized parts distributor and they too pull parts from Daimler warehouse in tuas. Unless common higher volume parts, they too do not stock. And their prices are always more expensive than local small stockist.

so for Mercedes, no scared no parts!

First stop was at Toyota

1- Corolla Cross

- decent power

- decent legroom

- plasticky but seems built to last

- tiny cup holders in the rear door, but no real pockets

2- RAV4

- decent power

- good legroom

- plasticky but seems built to last

- huge boot

Dynamic CVT is interesting and their FC is good

The bad bits, are they are only hybrid and the battery warranty isn't for ten year

Few soft touch materials

Price is rather high

Sales staff are the usual Toyota style, take it or leave

Main no no was that I couldn't get comfortable with their seats, somehow the steering and seat adjustment didn't make it comfortable

My current ride is very easy to get in, drive and get a nice seating position, which is why it was the most popular middle aged man's car in Germany at one point..

There’s a few good Toyota salesperson. WhatsApp me if you want the contact of one.

But have to check whether she’s still at Borneo. 🤣

Yah  there is a last orlulu 2008 with power tailgate. I recommend to philipkee. Fast hand and leg go throw deposit.

And there is a lokun daddy neighbor driving the previous gen 2008. He is the one that told me it is a good car...all the way from Ho to Residency. Still driving it happily.

Wow the first two are using some variant of VAG group 2 litre  engine correct commonly found in golf GTI ? Essentially you got hot hatch engine plus power in the space of larger and more comfy  car👍. Bestest of both worlds😁

I think MG looks nice for a sub-compact SUV, but then when I look at the power output.....

It's really quite underpowered even for EV version.

Atto 3 exterior design not bad, but the dashboard design i don't really like. this atto 3 seems like have many versions? Price range from $174k to $210k siah.

BYD just launched a new EV called Dolphin which is cheaper than atto 3.😂
