it turn out

No, Jaguar has not been sold to Geely. A recent report claiming that Tata Motors had sold Jaguar to Geely was false and later revealed to be an April Fool's joke. Both Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover confirmed the report was inaccurate, according to Times Now and Times Drive.

🤣

Parts from China & Taiwan.?

They use a lot of proprietary parts which is made in UK.

Maybe rim and tyre from Taiwan.

Even Shimano and SRAM parts are coming from Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and China.

I wonder how many has owned a Jag before after the JLR group was formed.

While it's not the perfect car, I would rather be what the Chinese would say and drive a usual boring and so called reliable car.

宁为玉碎 不为瓦全

Such a distinctive, 2 camps of thought

On one hand, you have the rare group that still drives the pre-JLR XJs. The 1986-2005 XJs are still very attractive and regal looking full sized sedans, to me at least. I still see X350 XJs fairly frequently today. They definitely stand out from the typical 7 series/S classes.

On the other hands, the "boring" Camrys/Lexuses and old Kompressors. 😆

It's a complete anomaly to drive a 20 year old Jaguar in Singapore today.

  • Unreliable, not fuel efficient, high road tax, lack of Jaguar specialists and workshops.
  • A E class/A6/5 series will always make more sense in any way, than a Jaguar.

And yet, I hope these 20 years old Jaguars get renewed and not scrapped. The road presence is just unique.

That's the thing about cars in Singapore. It is not a rational hobby 😄
