Not bad. Price gap to the Seal better than model Y to 3.

It's cheaper than seal during this launch period

Price is $193,888 but caveat is Insurance + Trade-In (can negotiate). I placed the $1K deposit to reserve a Sealion 7 Atlantis Grey and had looked at all the reviews online. All the reviews were very good e.g. Tesla Model Y killer etc etc. I was soooo excited to go and test drive cos I thought it looked very nice from the front and back ... side view a bit suspect (personal taste).

I went for the test drive (the showroom was packed + SE told me that their leave were cancelled and all had to come in to sell the cars).

Test drive was short (cannot blame them cos lots of requests for test drives) but did not get chance to "push" the car. I had driven the xpengG6 and Model Y in the last 2-3 weeks and ... to be honest, I felt let down by the Sealion 7. I am not sure if it was the hype I was expecting a great car or that I did not have chance to truly test drive the car. I just felt that in terms of tech - xpeng G6 was far superior and its looks was nicer + felt that the Model Y RWD had a little more ooomph in terms of pickup and the interior was uncomplicated ie simple elegance. The Sealion 7 felt a bit sluggish as compared to the other two cars and I felt the interior was confusing. However, I was seriously considering as the price was lowest amongst the 3 EVs then came the sales pitch and huge rushed pressure sales - asked me to confirm cos if I didn't confirm then delivery would be in March, BYD already sold 200+ units, need to pay deposit NOW etc etc.

I really did not like the "pressure sales pitch" - I can understand that they have been asked to sell but this is not the way (btw the SE is someone I bought from another marque before and not a stranger to me). I stopped and said I needed to take another look before walking out of the showroom.

I have just asked for my $1K refund and will now wait for the release of the Juniper.

IMHO ...

Well done.

Screw all these pressure sales. Truth is that byd will overproduce one. Chinese economy is really bad now. They will have to compensate with overseas sales. Even though they are selling well. With chinese industrial capacity, haha won't have long waits one lah even if you want to buy.

This one not like getting good stack high floor at condo showroom.
