The China units also have the DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system, which is an adaptive suspension that senses the road condition and reactively adjust the rigidity of the wheel dampers. Also a better Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) called DiPilot 100 (nicknamed "God's Eye C"), which uses 12 ultrasonic sensors, 5 mm-wave radars and 11 omni view cameras in an integrated system. The China model also has a larger 91.3 kWh battery. So it's a question of when some of the above features will come over to the international version. Maybe the future Sealion 7 will no longer have a rotating 15.6" touchscreen, but fixed to the horizontal position. Among these, I think the updated platform is more practical for me, I'd like to have "faster" charging if I plan to drive it for long years, . Currently Zeekr 7x and Xpeng G6 are having 800V i think. However, those original Atto 3 owners are still not being charged after 2 years. Basically, no one really knows and Sime not committing. Maybe once they sell enough cars and sales start dropping they will turn on this 2nd income stream. OTA updates, yeah so far all Chinese cars been doing it free. In future, no one knows. Nope. Again, in future no one knows. So if you want to buy a car, assume what you test drive is the final form and dont expect magic improvements from potential future updates (like Elon Musk hypetrain of OTA can magic your car into Skynet). Only difference is Road Tax between Cat A ($1.5k) vs. Cat B ($2.3k). Or $0.8k per year. One gets more features and power in the Cat B. BYD Alexandra showroom was packed last Saturday. While waiting to test drive, seen quite a few closing deals. Edited March 3 by Tankee531
steveting99 3rd Gear March 4 Share March 4 (edited) Been having a look at the spec difference between the Cat A version of the Sealion 7 (called Dynamic) and Cat B version (called Premium). Below are the highlighted differences. Yellow highlight in Cat A, green highlight in Cat B. Cat A (Dynamic) has: (1) Smaller battery capacity of 71.8kWhr. Even though the Dynamic is lighter at 2,160kg kerb weight, still results in a shorter WLTP range of 405km. (2) Lower power output of 100kW. This is expected for Cat A and results in a slower acceleration time to the century sprint of 11.8 seconds. But with the same amount of torque as the Cat B (380Nm) - should be okay for city driving around Singapore and overtaking on the expressways. Plenty of torque for driving around the city and dodging in/out of traffic with the ICE vehicles. (3) Higher carrying capacity of 540kg. Surprised that Cat A version has a gross vehicle weight of 2,700kg. The carrying capacity of the Cat A Sealion (Dynamic) is a full 130kg more than Cat B. (4) Better energy consumption of 18.8 kWhr per 100km than Cat B. Most likely due to the lower kerb weight, smaller battery pack and less features. (5) Less features compared to the Cat B version. Missing features are - (a) Heads Up Display (HUD); (b) Door mirror position memory; (c) Driver's seat with position memory; (d) Driver seat with 4-way lumber adjustment; (e) Real Nappa leather seats (Cat A version uses fake leather); (f) Door mirror auto tilt; (g) Branded (Dynaudio) 12 speaker system; and (h) RGB mood light with rhythmic function. (6) Lower road tax each year of $1.5k due to being in Cat A and lower power output. Compared to Cat B, it works out to about $0.8 difference each year - enough to pay for some of the charging costs or offset insurance premium. I.e. lower operating costs. Cat B (Premium) has: (1) Larger battery capacity of 82.5kWhr. The Premium version is heavier with a kerb weight of 2,225kg - still can go the longer distance of 480km under WLTP cycle. 18% more distance with just a 15% increase in battery capacity. BYD did some magic here in their packing efficiency and controlling the weight of the larger battery pack. (2) Higher power output of 230kW. Resulting in brisk acceleration time of 6.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/hr. (2) Lower carrying capacity of 410kg. Not sure why the gross vehicle weight is a measly 2,635kg? (4) Poor energy consumption of 19.9 kWhr per 100km. Due to the higher kerb weight, a bigger battery and extra features. (5) Has all the missing features mentioned for Cat A version. (6) Higher road tax cost per year of $2.4k due to the higher power output. Kind of expected and one has to be willing to open the wallet. I.e. Bo-pian. With Cat A and Cat B pricing the same, bet there's some who's willing to pay the extra $0.8k per year in road tax and get the Cat B version. steveting99 3rd Gear March 4 Share March 4 Following on from the previous post, forgot to add these comparisons between Cat A and Cat B versions of the Sealion 7. Cat A (Dynamic) has: (7) Slower charging. (a) AC is rated at 7kW. Means it'll take 10.25 hours to go from empty to full. (b) DC is rated at 110kW. Spec says it'll take 1.2 hours. Not sure from which Sate of Charge (SoC) it starts from to where it ends. Cat B (Premium) has: (7) Faster charging. (a) AC is rated at 11kW. Means it'll take 7.5 hours from empty to ful. (b) DC is rated at 150kW. Spec says it'll take 1 hour. Again, not sure from which Sate of Charge (SoC) it starts from to where it ends. So from a charging perspective, the Cat B version is better.

I think they trying to get those who see Sgcarmart 'list prices' before bargaining with dealer. Or those with absolute loan limits cannot stretch to new car lump sum. Of course if someone tried to sell their 6 month old Sealion to the used car dealers, sure 'aiyah EV nobody want used, 140k' or consignment only. 2
steveting99 3rd Gear March 6 Share March 6 One of my kaki buddies have the Sealion 7 Premium and he was gracious enough to let me have a copy of the owner's manual as I was interested in the high voltage battery pack - BYD's LFP Blade Battery 1.0 with 82.5kWhr capacity. Wanted to know the weight of the pack to work out the energy density. Unfortunately the owner's manual doesn't have this information so had to go to following website to get info on the 82.5kWhr LFP battery pack here: https://www.evspecifications.com/en/model/c4fd3a9 from the Seal model. That 82.5kWhr pack is really heavy - 580kg! 🏋️♂️ No wonder the energy efficiency is really poor at 19.9kWhr/100km. The energy density of the 82.5kWhr pack works out to be 142 Whr/kg. Not that great either. If the individual LFP cells are rated for 165 Whr/kg, BYD's cell to pack efficiency is a remarkable 86.2%. That's pretty good. Wanting to see what sort of effect the new Blade Battery 2.0 with a higher cell energy density of 210 Whr/kg will have on the Sealion 7. Back of the envelope calculations - using the same packing efficiency and with the same 82.5kWhr capacity the new Blade 2.0 battery pack should weigh around 456 kg. A significant weight savings of 124.3kg!👍 This would reduce the kerb weight to 2,100kg and most likely improve range as well as energy consumption efficiency. If the gross vehicle mass doesn't change from 2,635kg, it would increase the carrying capacity to 534kg!✌️ Can easily carry my bui-bui kakis on a road trip to Genting highlands...🏋️♂️ @Ake109 Can change the name from porky lion with the new Blade Battery 2.0? 😆
