Read that the SL7 is newly registered and has only been on the road less than 2 weeks.. me think it's a combination of kayu driver with questionable license and unfamiliarity with the car.. perhaps it's the hubby who usually drives..

Gov should really tighten up the conversion of foreign driving license to SG driving license.. especially for countries where bribery to get license is common.  At least should do a practical test for the conversion.

Our system doesn’t produce defensive drivers.

It produces textbook drivers.

But at least the due diligence check is there.. Foreigners converting their driving license to SG license just need to pass BTT.. no FTT or practical test.. why so lax?

Not that i disagree but haha i think there are inattentive drivers everywhere.

Sometimes even regular safe drivers can be caught out.

Recently I had 2 episodes, where I'm turning left using a filter lane/zebra crossing. So when turning into filter lane I already saw left side no pedestrian, then checking for pedestrians and oncoming traffic on right side to clear, then when want to move off that time, got pedestrian step onto zebra crossing on the left side. Takes a split second to react cos I'm already on the zebra crossing itself but not completely past.

Some pedestrians also just cross and expect others to just stop immediately.

That's what some people say the indons were expecting. It's like that in JKT. Cars just avoid pedestrians all the time due to the never ending congestion.

Cultural.

Sad.

It's the driver, not the car.

It can be any other car, same driver same situation, same outcome. -_-

Don't the car have collision avoidance, or it can be turned off

Yes, can switch off everything, but I don't understand why would anyone do it.

I have the AVM (all view monitor) with transparent Chassis turn on manually whenever I enter and exit the car park, and during parking , best feature I find in the car. [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

No video so dunno what happened exactly. Not sure if the SL7 is stationary at stop line or approaching the stop line but never really stopped.

But if the car was at the stop line, driver looking left to turn right, then the when she see all clear, then just drive off but the Indon tourist was crossing just in front of her stationary car). There should be proximity sensor?

There is proximity sensors, but it can be turn off, and if volume set to low, it is quite soft.

The SL7 is actually a very safe car, but it takes time to to play around with it to get use to. Without knowing and using these safety features, given the size, weight and strength, it is actually a very dangerous vehicle if driven by new drivers.

Remember my reason on why Cat A? [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

Yes, I think this has already become a fix mindset here. [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

You take care of your own safety, don’t expect others to take care for you. Even go overseas also the same, go there and follow their rules.

I need to catch the attention of the driver then I cross. Else I wait. That 1-2mins extra doesn’t matter in the long run.

does the SL7 emit an artificial sound at low speed as a safety feature ?  I saw in one Malaysian youtube video that the Emas7 emits an ice cream van melody at low speed which can't be turned off.
