The issue here is the definition of 'hybrid'. Unless they come up with a hard spec , like 'minimum 20km using EV mode only', any ICE with an ISG can consider 'hybrid'. And by 2030+, easily any ICE car will have something like that.

I am currently driving ateca with aisin 8 speed toirque converter , am currently at 54,000 km mileage . Workshop says no need to change gearbox oil supposedly to be service free . Should i go ahead to change the ATF ?

My Mini R56 uses Aisin 6 spd torque converter.

I change ATF every 40k km

Gear oil or differential oil?  That 1 really very seldom change. If u want can do it 100k once good enough. 

If ATF u talking about, recommend to change every 30-40k.

Rear differential oil also requires change.

Thanks , i am referring to ATF oil , he said its service free, no need to change oil at all . Besides , its quite expensive , 4 Litres cost about S$500.

Check with different WS for quotes maybe 

Cannot say dun change. Transmission fail the downtime 1week +- and rebuild will cost a few k. And it won't come back the same.
