And why they make noise at 4am-5am timing? 😓 AI said one..... There are Asian Koels in Singapore because they are a native species that thrives in the urban "city in a garden" environment, and they play a key ecological role by controlling the crow population through brood parasitism. The Koel is a protected species in Singapore, and its distinctive calls have become a common part of the city's soundscape. Ecological role: Asian Koels are important for maintaining the ecological balance by keeping the house crow population in check. Reproductive strategy: As a brood parasite, the Koel lays its eggs in the nests of other birds, primarily crows. The Koel chick hatches first and may even force the host's eggs or chicks out of the nest, which limits the success of the crow's reproduction. Urban adaptation: The Koel is one of Singapore's most common birds, as it has successfully adapted to the urban landscape, much like other wildlife. Protected status: The Koel is protected under The Wild Animals and Birds Act, and it is illegal to harm them. Distinctive calls: The Koels' loud calls are a result of their breeding season, when males call to attract mates and establish territory.

Cannot believe such annoying bird is a protective species even they woke people up at 4-5am everyday. Can this bird consider infringe the quiet hours law between 10.30pm to 7am, and should be ‘punish’ under this law?! 😂

Can this bird consider infringe the quiet hours law between 10.30pm to 7am, and should be ‘punish’ under this law?! 😂 I think they are not as annoying as pickleball😃 . The male bird is of quite bigger size than the female one. There was once I saw a male feeding papaya to the female bird, quite lovely😍 . And because of brood parasite behaviour, koels actually help contain the population of the more 讨厌crows. So koel is still the better of the two evils Edited October 16 by Ct3833 1
