rovwei 2nd Gear April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 I agreed. I reckon change lane without signal, blind spot, drink driving, sotong driver etc even more dangerous. When times for recall just sent her back for repair. This isn't the first time vehicle are being recall nor will it be the last. I guess so.. last time my Jazz also recalled due to window mechanism.. i think recall is very common. Dun have to be alarmed or worried.. Based on the chasdis numbers, think almost all in sg are affected.. take opportunity to build relationship with workshop n see got lobang or not.... haha.. ↡ Advertisement
gasman 2nd Gear April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 I just collected my soul red CX-5 2.0 premium last week. Nice quiet ride compared to my old Honda CRV 2.4. Bose sound system ok, but cannot compared to my old ride ICE setup with external amp and subwoofer. The GPS navigation system from Mazda surprisingly quite good (was using Garmin in my old ride). Congrats bro! How long did you wait for your car upon inking deal? Any idea GPS navi system is using which platform? TIA
Fariz Neutral Newbie April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 Have you all heard of Vezel built for Japanese market from Aug13-Feb16 were recalled due to a part that control electric current in vehicles. That means all Vezel in SG imported by PI are affected. Question is will LTA enforce the PI to recall all vehicles and who is suppose to bear the cost of exchange and labour parts? jonleelk 1st Gear April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 (edited) Congrats bro! How long did you wait for your car upon inking deal? Any idea GPS navi system is using which platform? TIA Mine was a specially negotiated 3-bids guarantee COE package. Ordered on 4-Feb, 3rd-bid-die-die-must-get-COE on 23-Mar, collected car on 30-Mar. The GPS seems to be some customised product, but must say quite good. Edited April 6, 2016 by jonleelk
easy2288 Neutral Newbie April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 Yep. Moral of the story is, sometimws cheapest is not the best. Some of the bros here are 1st time car buyer, they may not be aware of such terms in the sales agreement Even if you read the sales agreement, the language (choice of words) used is different in legal terms. Unless you are qualified lawyer, you wont know your liability unless you engage a lawyer to read the agreement. I am sure the PI or AD engage a lawyer to draft the agreement and is always written to protected their interest

Yes, almost all vezel petrol owners are aware of that. By right LTA will enforce the PI who in terms will be responsible for the recall. However, not all PIs import their cars... some PI buy over from dealers... that is very grey. Usual case, the recall, labour cost are settled by the PIs, you do not need to pay a single cent except your time to go down to workshop. But, some PIs do charge $$ or good excuse to charge $$. You pay what you get meaning, if you look for the cheapest deal, that PI may not cover you on the cost of recall. The bigger ones or so called charged higher will cover all these issues when this recall exercise does happened.
Yamapi 6th Gear April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 My SE told me they are aware of this issue and will be contacting their Japanese counterparts to get the replacement part. He also said LTA is now aware of the issue, no more brand new Vezels and Fits are to be allowed on the roads till the problem is rectified.

No doubt this has to be rectified.. but lets not panic abt this.. . Fyi, last time the window case Honda also mentioned it will cause fire/accident if not rectified. It is obvious that every recall is serious/"got to do" or else they would not risk their reputation by announcing their flawed product..

Oh ,.... how will this info affect those who already have COE on hand and awaiting LTA approval for their cars. Will their COE expire before their car is approved by LTA..? Better push your PI for answers.. Window mech (& windscreen crack) vs engine capacitor catching fire (& losing braking power) is rather different. This cap problem have to fix. I agree... Duty of care must be perform and due diligence must be done by PI and their WS as this is a safety issue. No BUTs and IFs... MikeTan_164557 April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 I am keen to see who got their vezel fixed first snd by which pi... I read the news report that the recall doesn't affect those vezels and fits that are exported out, it is only the domestic market ones that got affected. However that being said, I am wondering if all vezels and fits come from the same factory in japan, what makes those exported models so different from the domestic models not to be recalled? hmmm

However that being said, I am wondering if all vezels and fits come from the same factory in japan, what makes those exported models so different from the domestic models not to be recalled? hmmmIn the eyes of Honda Japan, they have not exported any Fit / Vezel. However in other countries their Fits are called Fit and not Jazz.. So not too sure about that. For Vezel, Honda's export model is called the HRV. All the Vezel on the roads are all sold in Honda Dealerships in Japan and then someone who is an exporter over in Japan goes to those such dealerships, orders the car, pays for the car in full, get it registered in Japan and then deregister it a few days later so that in Singapore custom's eyes, the car is still a new car. After dereg is done in Japan, the cars can now be placed on a ship exported to Singapore. So all the Vezel, fits are JDM. owner's manual is in Japanese. Brochure in Japanese, open the bonnet and a sticker under the bonnet says Japanese as well.

All PI's Vezels and Fits are supposed to be sold ONLY in Japan, that's why they are called JDM - japanese domestic market automobiles and parts designed to conform to Japanese regulations and to suit Japanese buyers. Those official export sets brought in by authorized dealers will have some degree of differences even though they are manufactured in the same factories. But those models (Vezel and Fit) sold overseas are not even made in Japan. China Honda uses the same name Vezel and Fit, but both models are made in China. Alansignature 1st Gear April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 OMG , that mean Vezel buyers are buying a Japanese used car ? Buying a car that designed to use in Japan only , no wonder most JDM PI cars no radio HU because radio frequency is only for Japan use . ↡ Advertisement
