Yes, thats correct. To use back idling  stop feature, simply just press the button  in front of the gear shift.  It now works the opposite way. Bought it through the FB group MO. Can also buy it on taobao yourself

How to open the auto start-stop area? And where u hide the pcb box?

There is a small cover in front of the gear shift. I use my thumb and push the cover inward to lift up the panel. The pcb box can be stored below the panel. It is actually quite small and can fit inside. Just use supplied adhesive tape to secure it

Thanks for the link. Since it is plug & play, can remove it if we need to go back to PI for warranty issue.

Anyone interested, since item is small maybe consolidate order to offset shipment cost.

This device is to disable the idling stop feature (by default) without the need to press the button in front of the gear shift?

Where did you purchase from?

Isn't the recent recall supposed to fix the auto start stop issue? The PI is supposed to solve the problem for us. Why is it that we have to install something to 'counter-solve' the problem? Looks like the delay tactic of the PI has made everybody forgot about the recall and this is what they want.

Did anyone do additional sound proofing? And will this really help in reducing the road noise intrusion by a lot or only marginal improvement?

Road noise plus tyre noise plus louder audio = more irritating noise then covering up the outside noise.....sighhhh

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

The sound proofing cannot be simply improved by sticking on some sound-cladding material. It has to be designed into the chassis. The Vezel has very good FC due to low levels of sound proofing. Hence it's super light... sound proofing material is super heavy, and if the car is very quiet inside, it will mean lots of sound-deadening material... usually for premium cars, the A, B & C pillars are not hollow but filled with some kind of extruded foam, the entire floor pan, doors, firewall are coated with dual or even triple layer sound proofing materials of different densities, the metal work is designed so that there is a little reverberations as possible, the roof also has considerable sound proofing so that when it rains, the roof doesn't sound like a tin can. The openings in the firewall will be made as small as possible and cladded with sound proof booting materials. The front windows and wind screen will be made of dual or triple layer laminated glass with overall thicker glass to reduce noise transmitting through. Aerodynamic work in wind tunnels will eliminate wind noise at A pillars and wing mirrors, as well as at C pillars.

My colleague's brother went there and wanted to pay full cash.

Was requested to pay 50% deposit.

This is before they secure his COE and they don't even have stock in hand. Is this a new practice?

No. It's not. I paid full cash but 10% deposit

I am hoping my PI will make good the defect too. 6 weeks ago, the SE inform me that his company has ordered the replacement part. There's been no news since. It could be a delay tactic and I anticipate that if I call him for update, he will tell me that it takes time, there are a lot of back order and theirs is in the Q, etc....

PS: Also, there no mentioned from anyone on local forums that their cars are fixed?

But to be fair, my previous ride was a Civic and there was an airbag recall. It took a year for AD to send me the letter (one and only letter) asking me to arrange to make appointment to have it fix. I receive the letter a month before my COE expire. So even AD takes so long.

Naturally we expect the PI to fix the problem but I don't think there is a law that states it is mandatory that PI fix all factory recall issues.

So as a owner, it's better to disable a faulty feature that does not work. I make it a point to disable it before I drive off but there are occasions that I forgot. That being said, the device might not be fully tested and is MIC, so it might have it's problem too.

Other solutions are available but there will be a red indicator on the screen indicating a fault with the auto start stop.

Yup. Quite a few bros did including me. I would say overall 50% improvement but quite heavily sp (floor board, all doors, eng bat)..but after a while the joise will sort of get to you again. Go change tyres first to pilot st3 and you should already tell the difference.

Thanks foe the insight. Guess simple sound proofing may not solve the issue then.

Do you mean the noise level will be up again after a while with the sound proofing done? why?

Ya man, the stock tyres also create alot of noise,

thanks.
