It's a pity.. loved the Vezel for the design and practicality, but the 1.5lit is a big turn off..

 

The HRV 1.8 will fill up the gap nicely for those who don't want the 2.4lit in a CRV, but still want decent power for a mini-SUV

 

Looks like i have to get the Honda Stream 1.8 instead..

 

Everyone who drives a 5er, 7er, E class, S class, Jag (and the list go on) will beg to differ..

 

Why are there so many big cc cars on the road? Why can't everyone just get a 1.6 Altis then?

 

For me, i prefer a bigger CC because i go up north frequently.. 1.5 simply don't cut it on NSHW..

 

How would you define cutting it, 180km/h non stop on NSHW??

 

I came back twice on nshw.. clocked 140 smoothly.. with some additional mods.. 180 no issue from what i heard..

 

In a full tank i drove from JB shell (taman sentosa) to Malacca (straits hotel) to port dickson (drove inside for 2hrs for dinner and shopping) to KL (park at dorsett hotel) and only required to pump after the toll at NSHW leaving KL.. at the toll i pump another RM50, i drove from KL to malacca (klembang den to Mahkota) from there i drove back all the way to the last rest stop before Tuas.. clocking about 850Km for this trip..

 

Didn't mod anything except for Rigid collar.. which works wonders..

yeah... just think of it as more protection for the engine while still under warranty.

It's a big big misconception that thicker oil provides more protection. Thinner oil is able to better lubricate smaller bearing clearances used in many modern engines.

 

As usual, the ignorant local mechanics think they are smarter than the engine manufacturers.

Just like some mechanics and upholstery shops that say that it is no problem for the passenger airbag to deploy even after you wrap the dash with vinyl. Yeah right....

Ppl buy from Kah Motor due to the reason of warranty and all those.

 

If cost is your concern for servicing and as well as Vezel is cheaper, u might as well buy from PI since after 20k you are going to find your own workshop.

Have you try driving a car for 5 years and above and the workshop you went for the past 5 years is not AD?

Any breakdown?

 

I been going to AD workshop for past 10 years and happy to say not a single time the car breakdown for the past 10 years :)

 

My friend went to other workshop and the car start to breakdown after 5 years.

 

My logic is I want a workshop to check periodically and fix something before it breaks down.

 

I think other workshop is fix something when it breakdown.

 I brought my previous car from AD and go to outside WS to service after the 3 free servicing provide by AD. I drove my car till scrap and it didn't breakdown on the road even once.

 

So the key is find a reliable WS and you must trust the WS / mechanic on what they recommend.

Normally the major problem will within 20k....after that is see luck liao. And if Long count all the way to AD and all the way to other ws, even no luck also can cover back ba.

I only change EO, CVT oil only for servicing, the rest will see which part need change then change only, like brake pad, spark plug or etc.....if spoil go scarp car find part to replace.

Obviously you don't know the right workshop and better to stay with ad.. I always go for the free times of service and service outside after that and not once I need a tow car or car failed to crank in the morning for the past 14yrs... Mind you, my current car is 9yrs+ already.... not that I change car every 3 yrs type.... only time I park at road side was due to tyre puncture and I will change the spare tyre by myself, done within 20mins usually... so, going back to ad is not a must actually for certain car... if your car is full of electrical stuff, better to go back ad thou... hehehhe

- others who are willing to take risks, more cost conscious and wish to maximise their savings

 

No wrong approach, but like I said, IMO, I like the fuss free, worry free part, so going to Kah works for me, and I am looking forward to the AD version of the Vezel, and I hope there will be some introductory price blitz to win back customers from the PIs :)

Given enough time, many cars can hit 180km/h.. It's how fast you get there..

 

Having driven the Civic ES 1.5, Civic FD 2.0 and Lancer GLX 1.5.. i really appreciate the extra 500cc on the FD2 when on NSHW (and still clocking 15-16km/lit on the 2 lit engine)..

 

accelerating from 120-170 to overtake takes noticeably less effort than the 1.5 lit engines.. granted, the 1.5s are older technology with lower bhp and torque than the current 1.5 engines.. But i don't see how a mini SUV sized car with less than 130bhp can be equal or better than it's 1.8 lit big brother..

 

That being said, looks like the closest i can get to the 1.8 lit is the Hybrid model.

I belong to the latter group.. go outside servicing..

 

But, for the major ones (40,000km and 80,000km and their multiples), i'll still go back to AD for servicing..

 

Let the AD handle the major ones like change pumps, belt, and outside WS do the minor stuff like oil change, spark plugs etc

Not trying to say AD is better than PI but one major thing I like about AD workshops are that they follow the manufacturer's recommendation on what needs to be changed, serviced etc cos I don't want to change something earlier nor later.

 

Outside workshops tend to ask you what needs to be done and for noob like me, it's tough as I'm not sure. Don't like they think should change this or that when it's not time to do so and inversely don't want to wait till its broken or spoilt then change it, my 2 cents.

BMW do not recommend change of ATF. Are you going to follow?
