I'm curious, then why does honda allow km to bring mij now?

You have to thank the PIs for this.

Kah's hand was forced.

I don't think they are delivered yet, but you can test drive them on the road now..

If the license plate is old, it can't be the Jap one. And you can tell if it's a Kah issue HRV from the plate.

I am more on catching the word HRV and missed the number plate spotting completely.

I am also trying to spot the facelift front grill.

Didnt make it to identify the made.

Profit margins, PI bringing in from trading houses and not Honda direct, these traders buy in bulk and resell, something like group buy so profit margin is less for Honda, whereas KM get direct from Honda, thereby cutting out the middle man.

I guess if the MIT HRV cannot sell as much and the PI MIJ vezel outsell the hrv by thousands.

As Honda what will you do to help your AD?

Continue to sell MIT HRV?

Or stop selling the MIT HRV?

Or fight back? :)

Hmm... Honda is still selling honda car mah, not like customers goes to Toyota.

Isn't honda priority ensure it's factory outside jp can survive. If every countries AD goes for mij, how can Thai factory sustain.

What is the spec for KM HRV? Difference between MIJ HRV vs Vezel?

Just go back a few pages, it's all there, cheers.

No brochure from Kah SEs yet.

That's a good point, but if the perceived quality of Thai cars is consistently poorer, or people are willing to pay more for MIJ cars, Honda may have to make all their cars in Japan. Not a bad thing, but I know there are folks who aren't willing to pay more.

See the Merc experience with their cars made in Alabama and South Africa. There were howls of protest that the QC was a lot worse, so they had to improve and transfer production of their primary sales models to Germany again.

Now we have their CLA, which is made in Hungary. I am sure they will be keen to ensure this important model is well made. Likewise with the Audi A3.

It may be slow, but if there is consumer pressure that keeps mounting, Honda will hear us.

PI is always an issue in some business. Thailand, Malaysia and others will still have MIT HRV where PI presence is less.

Thailand factory will sustain as there are other models MIT too.

If I read correctly, Hong Kong and Singapore are affected by PI and hence the change.

I guess where there is a high price, and a high markup, there will be room for a PI market.

Yup, especially singapore

Does mij hrv exist before hk changes? I'm just curious.

Turbocharged

Actually every big country AD will have its own manufacturing plant or assembly factories. Honda have factories in UK, US, Canada, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, etc. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Honda_assembly_plants

Wellcome to globalization. PI got so many countries choose from but always Japan. UK got really unique Honda models not available in Asia like their hatchback NA civics.

Anyone booked HRV from Kah motor? What the standard freebies?

Standard freebies are free 3 year servicing, 5 year warranty, free windows solar film, free blackvue camera.

If you can bargain more, can ask for dual blackvue camera, car mat, boot cover etc.

If every country wants the MIJ model that's no bad thing. Problem is people don't want to pay the higher prices.

And asean governments are keen to have their own motoring industry.
