Sat in a Geely SUV today. Initially the impression of this car is that it's pretty well made, decent engine, power and space.

It has only 2000km on the odometer, but already, the door opening keyless mechanism is giving trouble. The step board is falling apart.. 

Compared to the HRV and other non-Chinese brands, it's quite a contrast.

IMO investing in a nice car is not a bad idea, save that bit of money and you will feel a bit sore and may regret it..

I also saw a Range Rover lookalike and there are quite a few knockoffs... splitting images, right down to the logo.. amazing..

To all bro & sis that is going to buy be it HRV or Vezel, the best way to find what is a good offer price is to get to know the basic cost.

 

Simply go to google and search "basic car cost Singapore". And u should find one motoring PDF file showing last mth registered car with all the break down. Of course, this is without the cost of local install stuff.

 

This will help u to get in nego with AD and to know what is a correct price with less risk to secure a Vezel from PI.

 

 

Bro - my understanding AD (those desperate to hit sales) gives $1-2k off the most plus some freebies. Some SE will just walk away as this is eating into their comms which i experienced myself and only asking what freebies.

For me, when my wife sitting beside me when I drive is like have the Honda Sensing.  [:p]

 

The KM DX model I think basically have no paddle shift, 2 airbags, local fitted leather seats, no painted skirtings, no vanity mirror light, 5' monitor and some other stuff ... cannot recall.

 

The worrying thing for me for the hybrid is the cost of battery replacement and the eventual resale. Other then that, I am all for it.

Referring to the skirtings, for Vezel, it is also an extra given by PI, right?

Has any one upgraded the factory-fitted 16 inch rim to 17 inch? Is this a good idea?

 

What is the petrol grade for Vezel?

Depends on 17 inch rims specs and weight. If heavier might affect fc slightly but if you go for lightweight wheels it will make not much diff.

 

92 Petrol grade according to manual should be good enough although most people pump 95 min

The 16" factory fitted rims are quite heavy, if one upsize to 1" bigger of the same range of rims. It will be heavier than the 16" , it will not only affect the FC but also the braking distance too.

No point using 92 since price is only a few cents diff to 95 (unlike 95->98)

Anyone installed V9 to their vezel/HRV? Do you think getting a separate battery for the cam is needed even if V9 has the function to cut off power supply,

i installed a celllink B3 for my V7. think it is safer on the long run. the car battery charges this extra battery when running. when engine off, the extra battery continues to power the V7. hence, does not drain the car battery.

That's what I thought to. But my mechanic say V9 only should suffice because of the "power supply cut off" function. My Vios died a few times when I was using 2ch-650 because of this, and I was using the Power Magic Pro. Either my PMP is spoilt or my Vios's battery sucks.. Lol

V7/V9 has the built in self voltage cut off system. so no need magic pro. 

 

guess the final decision depends on how much we trust this internal cut off system. too many pple complaints of voltage drains.. that's why I thought better play safe with installing an additional battery. less than 300 bucks.

That's why I'm asking for comments on the new V9 lor... Because I don't trust PMP anymore and I just traded it off along with my 650 for my V9.

The PMP settings could have been set wrongly? I used to run my PM (without the Pro) on a Vios (cut off at 12v) and then on a Peugeot (cut off 12.4), all no issues. 

 

Currently running V9 without any PMP on the vezel, set cut off at 12v and so far so good. fingers crossed

I used to top up with 92 on the present car, Jazz 1.3 which has served me well for almost 8 year. I can feel that there is power lost over the months. I swithed to 95 and it is better now. I will use 95 for my new car.

Good to know... I'm still debating whether should I get the Cellink battery anot.. haha
