  4. Hi all, need help regarding to my internet connection at home. I have 2 different Board band accounts, 1 under starhub & 1 under Singnet (free come with mio tv). I used the starhub as my main network at home. Yesterday, it can only connected to local network, cannot access internet. I tot that it is due to my Aztech router, but when I connected the router to Singnet, it is working fine. I can access internet if I bypass the router, i.e connect my laptop directly to my starhub voice modem. Appreciate expert advise, tks.

  13. Hi all, Recently got myself a rodek AEX 2/3 way active crossover. I'm gg to install it in Mal but need to buy the necessary wire or RCA cable b4 gg there as the cable in Mal are extremely ex... In Active setup, the signal from Head (mine is Pioneer 6850) unit is send to the Crossover, from the crossover, the signal will be split into high/low/mid and then send to dedicated Amp/channel. From the amp, the amplified signal will then be send to the speaker directly. Am I correct??? please advise... my current setup is 2 channel Passive setup, I will get another mid speaker and add another Alpine 4 channel Amp to run the 3 channel Active setup, so does it means that I will need another 2 pair of RCA cable?? if both amp and crossover is going to be place at the front seats, is 3m cable enough?
  14. Newbie here and would like some advice. My HU only has 1 pre-out but my amp. (4/3/2) has 2 inputs (left and right). I am thinking of only powering my front speakers and maybe adding a sub. My questions is 1. how do I connect the 1 pre-out to the 2 amp. inputs? 2. since 1 only have 1 pre-out, can I still control the amount of fad? thanks in advance.
  15. Hi I just bought a second hand amp and am confused regarding the power connection. There are 4 posts mainly - Power, Remote, Ground, ACC+12V. My question is which is the one for the power connection directly from the car battery? I am assuming it is the "Power" and the "ACC+12V" is only on when the car is started. Anyone can help? Thanks.
  16. Yesterday was a harrowing experience for my wify while she drove, the car had some battery connection issues that cause the car to stutter and splutter due to poor connection and kept shutting down the car. At first we thought the battery was drained so the usual suspects were, "did we drain the battery with the headlights on?" "did the reverse camera function short circuit" etc. Anyways finally went down to Skoda at Ubi and got it checked, took a like forever for me to get there though as the car died along the way twice at each traffic light before reaching my destination. Questions: Why is it loose in the first place? Not sure. I did have my car serviced recently actually 5 days ago. Got it checked out and the mech there found the loose connection, tighten it, did a battery test and it was 100% phew. Alls well now. So just to give the bros and sis here a heads up that if you experience the same thing, open up your battery cover and check if the connection is loose, if it is, just tighten it and check again. Hope this helps if you ever experience it, if not than treat this as useless information.
  17. Have bought the above unit and connected it to the Sony MEX-R1 DVD player. The above unit came with the following: 1) 1 video/audio input 2) 1 NAV input 3) 1 video/audio output 4) 1 CCD input 5) IR output When I connected the Garmin GVN52 GPS Navigation unit to the "NAV input", there is no picture even when I set the input source to "GPS". The picture appeared when I connected it to the "CCD input" with the input source set to "GPS", but it will auto set to "CCD". I understand that "CCD input" is for the reverse camera. How do I turn on the "NAV input" and switch off the "CCD input"? Why is the reverse camera and the night switch signal using the same orange wire (I have connected the Sony HU dimmer wire to this wire)? The wiring diagram attached here: http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l112/NotSoBlurr/NecvoxWiring.jpg
  18. Looking at the current Alpine and Pioneer HU lineup, the best iPod connection (full speed/USB 2.0) is only found in their mid/low-end HUs. The only reason I can think of is that they are trying to protect their CD changer market. Anyone knows otherwise? I've been waiting for a HU that has sufficient audio tuning functions (eg, auto EQ and auto time alignment in Pioneer HU) and high speed iPod (eg, Alpine Full Speed) connection for a long time. Am disappointed that I see no end to my wait . Jomukaiya
  19. My Alpine 9851 HU requires a AI-NET compatible disc changer in order to work. My current CHM-S630 disc changer is not the AI-NET type. I wonder if there is any adapter available that I can use in order to make the connection? Advice appreciated. Thanks.

  21. quick query folks. connected the jump start cables incorrectly yesterday while helping a friend jump start his car. instead of grounding the cable at the target, we grounded it at the source. his car (the target) started successfully. but wondering if there'll be any problems with my ride cos of the connection error. pls advise.
  22. Hi! If I have 2 pairs of speakers (for front and rear), 1 pair of tweeters (for front), 1 active box subwoofer and a HU with 4 outputs, what should be the correct way of connecting this system? I don't have an amplifier and the speakers do not have crossover units. Thks!
