  2. I recently DIY installed a set of spacers for my car. Thought I share with you guys the process. Hopefully this can help those of you keen to install wheel spacers yourself. Why I did not choose to pay a small amount of money and save myself the hassle of the DIY? Well, after researching on the proper installation of spacers, there are a few reasons why I think DIY will be better compared to workshop installation: 1) Proper application of anti-seize copper grease to the right surface and not to accidentally get these into thread grooves. 2) Tightening of the bolts need to be in "Star" shaped pattern sequence to ensure the spacer and wheels are aligned properly 3) After 150km of travel, will need to remove the wheels to retighten the bolts. 4) Need to use torque wrench to tighten to the factory specification. In my case is 150nm. I shall span this tutorial over a few thread posts for clarity in presentation. First up, a pictorial video guide.

  10. Hi all, I have got a few questions for the SME peeps here. 1) Does OZ Ultraleggaras come in 7J for 17"? 2) Are there any detrimental effects on the use of spacers? What are the indications to use spacers? Any further information is also dearly appreciated. 3) Finally, a bit of moot point here but I have just bought Rays United Arrow rims and Goodyear Revspec RS-02 to go with it. Any brothers or sisters got any comments or advice on it? Thanks!

    5mm Spacer

Heard from my Jap Colleague that he had installed a 5mm spacer in between the rims and the hub. This makes the Wheel "protrude" or flush with the car body which improve the appearance. Anybody hear of or installed such spacer (or is there a proper name for it)? It cost about Yen 2000 per pc. That's about S$28. He says that 5mm is max. Any further, it may wear the drive shaft. Any comments?
  12. Due to my height (1.8m), i need to push my seat back and as a result the steering is abit far from me. Is there any spacer in the market that can be use with the stock steering wheel (with airbag) to push it nearer to me? Thanks.
