  1. Hi Guys! Have searched around car forums but haven't come across anyone who encountered the following experience yet...and would appreciate if anyone can share their thoughts... A common practice for ADs is to offer 3months/6bids non-guarantee COE packages when buying new car. I believe this means (as all SE will tell buyers) deposit/booking fee will be returned if AD fails to secure COE within 3months/6bids. Main culprits for failed bids are usually fluctuating COE prices or low/unrealistic COE rebate level offered (e.g. Toyota's recent 35K rebate for Cat A savers package). So...what happens after 6 failed bids if buyer doesn't give in to AD's mind games (e.g. top up more $ to secure COE)? Has anyone (or your friends) ever gotten their car's deposit/booking fee returned by AD before?
  2. Hi bros, can share usually how many bids would AD secure COE? Just want to have a general sensing. Thanks!
  3. I am looking to get a car from kah motor. It's 8 bid non guaranteed rebate 39k. What is the Chances of failing Coe and asked for TOP up? Is Kah motor good in securing Coe? Rebate level is so low
  4. Guys check with you on your opinions and seek some answers. If you buy a car from a big AD and they only have a non guaranteed COE bid. When they are bidding, can they not participate and not bid in maybe the 3rd bid? The excuse is it's higher than the rebate amount, but previous bids they had already participated even though it was also higher than the rebate amount? Is it tantamount to failure in their obligation? Or it is normal practice? If it is acceptable practice than they don't consider it as part if 4 bids, they can hold you based on that paper and you are stuck without options to buy other cars and makes cause you signed the agreement with them to allow them to bid? Ppl with knowledge and experience please chip in, opinions are welcomed.
  5. The Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) is taking 13 motor vehicle traders to task for anti-competitive actions. In a statement on Thursday afternoon, the Commission accused the traders of contravening the Competition Act. The group was said to have engaged in an anti-competitive agreement to suppress bids at public auctions of motor vehicles. The CCS said that the infringing conduct involved bid-rigging through an agreement to suppress bids at these auctions, which has the "object of preventing, restricting or distorting competition". 8. Read the post about refund deposit after 6 COE bids and know some MCF member is asking for refund after AD who didn't secure the COE for them. Is it possible to transfer this kind of account to me? Giving that the high price now, if your account can transfer to me, with topping up and some benefit for you, the price may still be good compare with now. Me looking for a Japanese sedan around 45K - 60K range. Anybody in such situation can PM me to discuss detail.
  9. Taken from Planet F1 Singapore is bidding to join the list of countries hosting a F1 grand prix and hopes to be added to the calendar within the next three years. According to Singapore Motor Sports Association (SMSA) President Matthew Lee, talks have already been held between the SMSA and the country
  10. any people around here bought a hyundai from KMC before??? wonder how many coe bids then you manage to get your car??? mi just failed to get the coe from yesterday's bidding. then at nite the SE called and ask to top up $2k for open cat coe. but i did a check and found that open cat was onli $900+ more than cat a. it is abit too much to top up rite. then this morning he called again and this time he says i need to top up onli $1.5k. still too high. and somehow i felt cheated . felt that the car company purposely bid low and ask customers to top up so they can earn more. did a check with a fellow accent fren. according to him, he also suffer the same fate as mi. and the worst part is that until the sixth bid, he still failed to secure a coe. onli then KMC offer him the open cat at no extra charge. somemore my dad also order the same car as mi... if one car was to top up $1.5k... then we would have to fork out an extra of $3k for 2 cars. even more lugi liao... think this incident totally spoilt my new car mood. was thinking of canceling the order. cos with the top up, i would rather got for the vios man... but too bad... now i had signed on the dotted line. have to see my fate for the remaining 5 bids. so was wonder anyone of u guys suffer the same fate as mi??? normally how many attempts did you guys secure a coe. especially one through KMC. thanx and appreciate your feedback...
