  5. How can anyone not warm up to a face like that? ----- Jul 4, 2011 MacPherson 'warming up' to me: Tin Pei Ling By Poon Chian Hui NEWLY minted MP Tin Pei Ling has said the people of MacPherson are warming up to her. Calling this a 'significant change', she said: 'I guess, given what has happened, they recognise me, but they have also become warmer.' The 27-year-old full-time MP, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a community event in Toa Payoh yesterday, was referring to her baptism of fire when standing on the People's Action Party (PAP) ticket in Marine Parade GRC in May's General Election. She was widely castigated online for the photos she posted of herself on Facebook, a video clip which caught her in a show of petulance, and for her links to the party through her husband, the principal private secretary to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, among other things. Soon after PAP's victory in Marine Parade GRC was announced, many called for her resignation on Facebook. Ms Tin said it is still too early to tell whether the public's ill will towards her has dissolved, but she is viewing it as a positive sign that residents have appeared more at ease talking to her. It has been a month since she quit her job as a business consultant at Ernst & Young to focus on being an MP. Saying she will not be looking for a job for up to a year, she added: 'I'm just focusing on MacPherson, on the people.' Her days are now filled with meeting residents, such as during her Meet-the-People Sessions, her twice-weekly block visits or when she takes her walks through the constituency. 'When I have lunch or meals in the constituency, residents come up to me... and then we will have a chit-chat.'
  6. Well, I am still one of them. I will let engine warm up for around 30s or so before moving off. Purpose is to ensure that the oil has flow thru entire engine and properly lubricate all moving parts. I believe 30s is more than sufficient already. Then just drive normally but don't rev the engine to high RPM (I think anything below 2.5K is ok) till its properly warmed up. Do you guys still have this practice?
  7. CNA Report : Football: Brazilian Olympic football team to play friendly against Singapore SINGAPORE: Brazil's star-studded football team will be in Singapore for a friendly match against Singapore's national team. The Lions will face some of the world's best players such as Ronaldinho and Robinho in the match on July 28. Singapore is the first of two acclimatisation stops before the Brazil team heads to Beijing for the Olympics. The match will take place at the National Stadium. Tickets range from $60 to $120. The team will fly to Vietnam for the second game on July 29. Singapore's efficiency and safety plus the country being in the same time zone as Beijing helped woo one of the world's most popular teams to its shores. Winston Lee, general secretary of Football Association of Singapore, said: "We started negotiations with the agent in May and we had to contend with a few big countries in Asia and Europe. We are happy, of course, today to announce we have secured Brazil to play in Singapore on July 28." Weird..... Would you pay SG$60/- ~ SG$120/- to see Brazil soccer team heading for Beijing Olympic warming up by playing a friendly soccer against SG national team..... Maybe, $10 ~ $15 should be enough ...... , afterall it is not a competition game and each players could only play for about 20 minutes and as in friendlies, they could change as many players as possible. Not for me....
  8. Check this out. Cars might not be the culprit of global warming. http://www.crash.net/motoring/roadcars/new..._is_bunkum.html

  11. i will always make it a point to warm up my car before driving off. However, sometimes after parking for say 4 to 5 hours, the warming up light came on again. So, would like to check whether is this common or should I send my ride in for servicing?
