The construction is not too bad, can hear the noise outside the room, but once inside, the sound proofing is good. The walkway around the place is a little more dusty, but you get to almost enjoy the facilities all to yourself. The staff there also very eng eng .... when we went to the pool, the staff automatically brings the towel to you ... two infact, one to lay on the deck chair and another nicely rolled-up on the chair for you to dry yourself. Ice water and cool face towel are sop items too. We spent the 1st 2 nights at the Beach Club and didn't get any of these.

However, in-room broadband is not ready, need to go to the front desk area for wireless surfing. In-room PayTV also not ready yet so no naughty videos for now [sly] , but the LCD TVs really makes the whole place feels more spacious. Also, makan places are limited, but there is always a buggy on standby to bring you to the beach club. Guess thats the reason for the 20% discount.

As for the sales exec, we didn't feel any pressure at all. When we told the sales exec we are members already, his reply was something like :" Oh thats great ... so we don't have to go thru all the details ... lets just sit down for a short chat to see if I can answer any of your queries and then I can give you the vouchers. In the meantime, I'll just update you on the new resort that will be added to the program."

We were the ones who wanted to find out more on the new resorts [sweatdrop]. ANyway, the vouchers can also be used for the spa, or alternatively, if you play golf, for a round of golf for 2.

Finally, its my turn to have a go at the resort. Will be flying off on this Saturday.

I managed to haggle another 50 bahts off the Hnoda Jazz (now 800 baths/day for 7 days rental)

Say, how much does it cost to use their internet PCs? (If they have it?) Will probably have to work from there as there's urgent matters at work during the time I'm there. [:/]

Also, is there a DVD player in the unit? If there is, I won't want to lug along my portable one.

Thanks.

Hypersonic

Bring your notebook. It's free internet from the network cable inside the villa for members. Lucky I brought my UMPC along..

There's a DVD player, and free DVD rental (2pc per day) from the health club (Gym).

If you are staying in those 2BR apartment, just plug into the internet jet and vola... you are still connected to the world-wide-web.

Yah... but I don't wanna lug my notebook along. Already so much luggage in tow. [:/]

SO thought I'd just use their internet services (cafe or whatever) to do some work and to monitor the situation in the office.

Such a coincidence that you should bring this up now. I just attended another talk by them last night and ended up signing on for another 2K points.

I guess the only way to stop them is to go for the session and take their freebies. Thereafter, maybe another follow up call and I guess they won't disturb you further. You thinnk they can always keep calling you for the talk & give you the freebies????

After once, the next time you are entitled to the freebies is another year form then. So just say you attended and got the freebie but didn't buy. If they want to give you more freebie with you not purchasing anything, then you can go down again.

so anyone's agent ask them for referral? can ask them to call me since it have been more than a year since I took their freebies? [:)]

I remember last time, i also refer a few bros here to attend their talk?

Nowadays... they already cut down their benefits to the referer. It used to be 10K MRP for every person one refers and attends the talk. The person attending will get the $200 vouchers or a 1 night stay at Ritz Carlton.

Now..... only the attendees gets the freebie. The member who does the referral gets nothing...... unless the person signs up. You a member??? Non members who refer gets nothing, even if the person signs up.

Anyway, if you want.... let me know your details and I can do the referral for you to get some more freebies.

there will definitely be some urge from them to do some marketing but it's the gentle type where u can reject if it doesn't suit you.

There's of course some marketing as mentioned by Bro Sony. (Bro, can send me your email addy)

In fact, there's a minimum combined income criteria and they do menition that husband & wife needs to attend. (There are people who talk their way through though as they do not ask that you disclose salary details and such)

PM me your details like Name & contact & email.

maybe too many 'strong-willed' people around.. these don't work anymore

my wife kept stomping my foot when i showed signs of interest [laugh]

perhaps they shouldn't have insisted hubby and wife to attend their sales presentation!

Best way is to seduce wife.

You know how my wife got seduced right? Initially was the real Phuket Beach Club because someone owns the this and invited us over to stay for 4 nights.

After attending the sales talk at Phuket we rejected because it costs a bomb. Cannot fork out USD28k for a traditional timeshare.

So after coming back to SG, we were invited to the Club AP version. This time not the traditional timeshare but points and a lot cheaper. We did mental sums are realized, we would have squeezed the juice out of these high end resorts after 3-4 years.. Phuket Beach Club villas are USD500 a night off peak. We stayed there for 5 nights. Bangkok 4 nights and costs SGD400 a night. This year, went to HK. Renaissance Harbour View was SGD500 a night. We stayed 5 nights. Every year club dues are 500+ a year.

Now I'm sort of thinking of "renting" it out with the Express Break option but it is only 7days advance with your guests. So the airfare for the renters will cost a bomb.

Remember, it is pre-paid vacations. Depending on how many times you go, you can ROI in 3-4yrs. Then you are only maintaining with club dues after that.

Can break even in 4 years meh???

I did my sums and used a more sane number of SGD250/night (whether hotel or service apartment) and it takes like 28 years to break even for me. (factored yearly maintenance dues in)

Maybe you got your points cheap..... but I paid like US$1 per point.

Yearly maintenance at current moment (after I added points), works out to SGD1500+ / year. <_<

So a week's yearly holiday just about break even on the maintenance due paid out. Then any more days taken in the year will go towards off-setting the upfront memership costs. [rolleyes]
