Mubarakrashid Neutral Newbie May 2, 2007 Share May 2, 2007 Eh.. AGS cert and GIA cert, what's the diff har? Not many uses AGS in S'pore if I'm not wrong. Care to share where u brought your stone? Cheers AGS supposed to be of premium over GIA... only the higher range carries the AGS cert.. for example, Destinee, Brilliant Rose, Celestial etc... from the models i quoted, so obvious that i only recee the local brands..no point paying for the likes of Tiffany..once u wear, nobody will know unless u belong in the high society circle.. i think my Celestial one is GIA and not AGS. let me check and double confirm. within the Celestial group, there's the high and not-so-high valuation i guess.. Turbonetics 2nd Gear May 2, 2007 Share May 2, 2007 i know of a fren who is getting hitched soon and she was flaunting to me on how much her bf is gonna spend on the wedding.. i casually asked how much she is gonna lose and guess what she told me? "why should i pay since he is the one who wants to marry me?" i deduce that if another guy comes along and could offer a better "package", there she goes.. i mean dun she want to marry the guy too? is it like a 1-sided thing? apparently she didn't realise the fact that the guy is spending money which she will have a share in after marriage.. maybe she have this thinking: "what is yours is mine too, what is mine is not yours". Turbonetics 2nd Gear May 2, 2007 Share May 2, 2007 this reminds me of one of my not-so-close friends. she had a boyfriend of 5 years.then she get to know a guy who drives a car. the guy said he want to buy another car and the current car will give her drive. she broke up and be with this guy(iam not sure is it because of the car). but after together for about 2-3 years, the guy still driving the same car. then they broke up(don't know is it she have yet to get the car). pretty girl but materialistc type.branded everywhere. she can easily find a sugar daddy for her standard. Miketow Neutral Newbie May 2, 2007 Share May 2, 2007 ok lar.. same as Lee Hwa, Goldheart, SK and SooKee... a few hundred $ different... actually all these are just gimmick.. yes, it's cutting is more, and give out more brilliant.. but that's under the ideal lighting.. otherwise, it's still a rock.. Put a Swarovski crystal beside it.. and some layman might not even know the difference.. Hi Sony - I absolutely agree with you - all the H&A that every LeeHwa or Aspial promote like mad - is the biggest gimmick in the world - but they will continue spening millions promoting H&A b/c they can mark up almost 100% more then regular high grade GIA certified diamonds My female colleague was SO UPSET with her financee for spending 7K for a tiny 40 count H&A from LeeHwa
Sony 1st Gear May 2, 2007 Share May 2, 2007 7 K for a 40pointers? i think that your female colleague is right to be upset.. she could have gotten a 1 carat for that price...and it's much better..

Porker Turbocharged May 2, 2007 Share May 2, 2007 A marriage is a bond between 2 persons. Once things get divided in terms of I-own-this-and-you-own-that, that bond is broken and things will only go downhill from there. Sad to say... this is a fact in current society and I dare say more than 90% of the couples are experiencing this. What happened to the vow of going through thick and thin together? $$$ rules the world now man!

Dermocyma Neutral Newbie May 2, 2007 Share May 2, 2007 diamonds are illiquid investment, buy only if u must. a couple can spare the extra $ on other creature comfort and necessity. though individual preference, fancy cuts are for glitters and some looks 'fake' to that extreme. good side - it can hide those yelow and flaw ones. so far, standard 66 facet are most commonly desired. as for certificates like GIA, AGS etc, you can get a rock certify personally if you bought it from the dealer. the price wise will be cheaper than retail shop, but you need to know the market. appointment is required for dealer sale. i do have a 1kt E-VVS1 and a 1.5 kt G-VS2 around if you are interested. ↡ Advertisement
