Err......May I know so without winning any 4D, what should be the salary range to be justifiable to purchase a 100k car?

I remember the last time I 1st started work more than 10 yrs ago, a normal 1.6L lancer cost 108k.

I once drove till 210km/h on NSH on my auto avante and it seem able to stretch further...vibration is noticeable but stable road grip

i got two friends who are driving Avante.

both drove up to Malaysia.. one claimed to run 190km/h and another one 180km/h.

the one who drove at 190km/h claimed that it can go higher but the body cannot take it.. too much vibration..

with such price, such pick-up, such top speed, such body, such looks, etc.

there is no way that any Jap cars can win the overall as compared with the Avante.

*if you are driving a 1.6L Jap car and comparing with the Avante, you will know what i mean... do a decent test drive*

i test drove Avante and I30.

For interior looks -> Go for Avante.

For better pickup -> Go for I30.

seriously, the korea car manufacturing companies are improving in a speedily manner.

once again, i am not a korea car supporter.. just stating my view point....

wow, don't let those honda fan hear that. they;ll be [bounce2][bounce2][bounce1][bounce1][bounce1]

My 4 yo Sunny can do 180 on NSHW. During down slope, I ever achieved 195. Not much vibration just noisy engine.

That is a good information cos most people who bought the latest Honda models equipped with i-Vtec engine thought that their engines are like the older VTEC which can open at high RPM and speed like Turbo equivalent type, I would say that it is a cheaper version of Turbo charged vehicles.

I have watched the concept of i-Vtec engine and they have cut cost a lot of the engine manufacturing by replacing many major parts with plastic or aluminium to reduce the size of the engine by 13mm and 5KG in weight which is not a great R&D effort at all.

If you want power then there will be no FC, if you want really TRUE VTEC engine then you should be looking at the Honda models like the S2000.

i-vtec is just another feature to try to be as fuel efficient as possible. its wrong to say that its "lousier" than the older Vtecs as its a misconception that the newer vtec got no "vtec pull". This pull is found in the Type R series that is available for the Accord, Civic and Integra and also the non Type R series S2000 like u mentioned.

Also, replacing parts with aluminium is a very high level stage of R&D whereby they have to ensure that the aluminium alloy used adheres to all safety criterias and also to balance the overall weight of the car.

And please dont compare Vtec to Turbo. They are a different ballgame altogether. By saying that it is a cheaper version of turbo shows your level of understanding of performance cars.

oh please guys, we are not car mechanics. some guys treat their car as work-horse, engines

mean everything to them, some just transport, some as art. So what we know so much about

v-tec, once scrapped, it would end up as sampan motors in Vietcong river. why make life so

hard, why so defensive?

Aiya, each person have their own point of view. Priority on each owner's list is different. Some driver lack experience, some lack courage if all is given the same car, not all can exploit the car's potential.

It's funny how many ppl describe doing 190000km/hr or 1000000000km/hr on the NSH. What's so difficult to drive straight with peddle to the metal and hit top speed? I can assure everyone any 1.6L car, M'sian, Korean, Japanese, Conti, Chinese.... maybe not Chinese, can hit the similar top speed. It's just a matter of how much time each took to reach there.

It depends largely on how manufacturers tune the response between throttle to engine, engine to gearbox, gearbox to the wheels, to make the car that gives a fun & lively drive.

Not all drivers want POWER! Different driver, different preference.

People tend to praise the car they own, it is only natural. Later you see them moving away to another brand, then the truth of the matter will preveil. Sometimes they will KNN their previous ride.

Not forgetting speedo error and also over optimism plus some imagination (maybe say hope). [confused]

Hopefully those whose got money to spare for power in driving in a small country like singapore will always be kana fine by the traffic police.

Got vibration but car is stable, this 2 go hand in hand... got vibration is not considered stable. Can say all 1.5/1.6L cars can go 180+ km/h, stable or not is another issue, I think the steering wheel will be extremely light at such high speed, considering it's already light at low speed. Noise confirm is unbearable.

Hyundai does produce better cars than Honda, it all depends on which cars are you comparing against.

Hyundai Azera 3.8 V6 vs Honda city 1.5 I4

No question which is a better car.

Which make gives more value for money? The answer is pretty straightforway, the American and European markets chose the Korean make Hyundai and Kia. The reason why Hyundai and Kia are one of the manufacturer in the black in these times.

[hur] I did not know Hyundai produced better cars than Honda ?

Err...next time difficult for yourself to buy a powerful car when strike Toto. Have to face MCF members and mirror then slap yourself for making the above statement. [sweatdrop]

Better for each individual to choose the ride they fancy.
