I thought about the above, but I am afraid the postal guys may steal it (since they will know it is an ipad as they need the invoice to calculate GST) and then declare item lost later.

 

Buy the insurance with Vpost to protect your goods against loss or damage. At least you get your capital back.

iphone4 still using the same 3.5inch screen....

 

i'm thinking of upgrading my Samsung S3600 flip phone to a touch screen....

 

but having used my friends iphone3GS, found the screen size lagging....

 

would want something like the 3.7inch screen on the HTC Desire or 4inch on the Samsung Galaxy S....

 

but i'm sticking to my current pre-paid plan....so gotta buy the phone without contract....

 

any advise???

Nexus one looks good. Was doing research on it, later in the stage Samsung launched Galaxy S. Seem better, larger screen, brighter screen, & etc.. But now, Iphone 4 even much better. Slimmer & same size as GS.

Dont compare, go with your heard. Phone will always have better one coming out.

hold the phone as per normal in your right hand.

your right thumb will "start" from the bottom right corner, and "hover" over the screen.

 

now, try to reach the top left corner (top left most icon, or something).

with a 3.5" screen, you can do it, but this is the maximum.

anything bigger, you will struggle and your right hand grip of the phone will be out of position, meaning that after finish tapping the top left icon (with your right thumb), you have to re-adjust back your grip of the phone. at worst, you need to use two hands.

 

apple competitors always think "bigger better or faster better or more better", but they never do human engineering. even nokia who coin this phase(?) is not doing it.

Dont get a smart phone. get a netbook or lap top instead.

Seriously, i get a Laptop when i want to do the above and use my Ipone for tettering on the laptop for internet access.

Err, you can't do that.

 

The ipad does not have a mic for phone calls, nor does it have a phone program.

 

The micro SIM card is only for 3G access, not for voice call.

 

You still need to have a phone for voice calls.

 

Unless you mean you whole day will make data calls over program like Skype?

 

Even so, I think you will need a bluetooth headset to act as the mic, not really sure if it's possible.

i think old people will love i pad as a phone because of extreme big screen

Its not. Its about on par. The main advantage that nobody has mentioned is the HD video recording. Regardless of what jobs says, the lack of flash is the biggest con (which is why i'm using a flash capable browser on my milestone while i'm waiting for Froyo).

What talking you? I can do it easily on my 3.7inch fat arse milestone without a problem I can prolly go another inch without a problem, and i have short fingers.

 

What you've missed out is text readability. now with the change in resolution, unless all the apps are re-rendered for the new resolution, the text will become quite a bit smaller or a bit less crisp (plus all the other cons listed with the ipad about using existing iphone apps) In fact you'll end up with less usable/aesthetically pleasing apps than what you would get on android even though the apple app store may have more.
