Ceiling fan

i did my own.......quite direct unless you buy the one with the led lights. But still can do as they will provide a schematic of the electrical. The hardest is installing the brackets...need to drill 2 holes for the anchor bolts. I installed 2 k15z and installed 1 for a friend. Bro Vratenza had posted of his diy experience in this thread......i even fabricated my own extension to use my old fan's bracket, more sturdy and strong.

you are solid! Respect.  my fans are all mounted below and flush with  false ceiling, meaning the bolts and actual fixtures are hidden behind the false ceiling .  Will need installer to help me.

Buy 2 at a time to avoid GST or the hassle of having to pay for it.

They have people over here to install for you at your own cost.

Thanks. You guys are creative.

not rocket science lei.....sure can wan.....want or dont wan only. Most in SG would prefer to pay than get hand dirty. If migrate to other country......sure kana cut carrot! Like yours will be difficult......so has to pay people to do. I even did all my lights to led......cialat part is going up and down the ladder....my legs and calf feels like i just went for a workout.....hahaha. My advice for drilling ceiling is drill a smaller diameter first...much easier than straight away drill a diameter 10mm hole.

Warning you first, if that is the case, the "gang luii" will be more expensive liao. Most electrician don't like and don't wish to handle false ceilling. You might need  another contractor to open up the false ceiling and patch it back after the electrician is done with the installation.

viilusion is solid, vertical drilling is very tough , the dust will just come down directly to your face when you drill.  i will usually get someone to hold a vacuum cleaner to suck off the dust while I  drill but still not a easy job to do.

Thanks for the tips. Now I have to think harder how many to replace. In fact only the three at the balconies are mounted directly onto the ceiling, the rest are all under the the false ceiling.

You are absolutely correct, today i went to ask a shop, the labour cost for fales ceiling fan installation would be about $150 vs concrete ceiling which is usually only $50 per fan.

With false ceiling ... even w long rod , may not have enough space for air circulation.

So i open a circle on the false ceiling ,slightly bigger then the blade .

I just tried it once... Cannot get use to the fluctuating speed that is supposed to simulate natural breeze.  :D

I just use the manual speed selector these days.

Isn't it just like auto windshield wiper speed?

half the time i just get irked by the overly fast speed and switch it to manual  [laugh]  [:p]

No it's different.... The fluctuation of the wind speed is much more varied within a short time. Show you:

Panasonic fan yuragi function explanation:

These fans are equipped with 1/f Yuragi function, which is a fluctuating pattern to generate a gentle breeze. With this sophisticated formula in varying air velocity and controlling wind force, these new ceiling fans gives you a peaceful and comfortable feeling.

New function: 1/f Yuragi
Speed notch toggles based on Yuragi pattern
Incorporated with this human-concerned technology, this kind of rhythm maintains your external body temperature by giving you a feeling of natural wind when there is a change of wind velocity.

It came with it when i bought this resale unit. There seems to have sufficient space above the fan for air circulation.

Those with KDK Ac fans making the "wong wong" noises or slow speed, may want to note that it's due to the motor capacitor on the PCB. Neither the motor nor bearing at fault. Especially those expensive models like V60WK,V56VK, R56SV. Change that $5 capacitor and the fan will be good as new.YTDGuhN.jpg

Any close up on the capacitor you are talking about, the specs and where to buy these capacitors?

3 blade model 1.6UF 500v. 4 blade model 1.8uF 500v. 5 blade model 1.9uF 500v.

Usually it's the biggest one on the board. In the above photo it's the black rectangular block with wordings which is the new one, original kdk might be brown colour or black depending on batch. For replacement most commonly found value will be 2.0uF 450v which works with any of these models. Buy from sim lim tower or online through Ali express etc.

This is DIY work with soldering, most electrician won't do/don't know how to do. KDK agent will fix by changing the whole PCB but the cost as good as getting a new fan.

Or if you interested to detach the circuit board and pass to me, I could change the capacitors for you at a fee lor
