Only those which save electricity will can use.

Can really advise unless know what is available.

KDK supposed to be very long lasting. But for the price, I can get 4-5 from TB!

** I'm no xpert but just bought some late last yr

- what brand more safe/reliable and long lasting?

** Bought fanco using cdc fr neighbourhood shop (4 yr warrenty)

- which one can blow air to bigger area below?

** Based on size (length of blade, if not sure, chk w e vendor, must hav measurements of rm)

- which one has more fan speed to choose from?

** dc fan hav a lot of spd settings (mine hav 6 spd, can blow forward & reverse + natural air flow setting, timer + 24w led lights)

- anyone got good recommendation of go where to get?

** Just call 2 chk to compare price...fr either climate voucher website or shops that carries e brand u fancy

i chatted with one shop, Sembawang Lighting House, and they also asked me to go to their shop to discuss...

i have 3 KDKs currently. All had to have the PCB replaced i think around the 4-5 yr period... one of them just had it replaced again in Jan... at 13th yr mark...

read that even Prism+ also got DC fan... dunno they good or not...

You open coffeeshop and those fan are on 24hr a day? 4, 5 year is not very lasting.

My fanco fan creaks occasionally on and off even though it's the newest and the least used. Got it last year?

Honestly not the most impressed by it. I only bought it for the design.

@Lala81 i also got 5 fancos for my bto when i moved in last year. 2 tributo units for my living room and 1 rito each for the bedrooms.

one of the tributo occasionally makes a little creaking noise but still ok. (i think installation issue)

but the rito in my son's room is cranky ... sometimes cannot on, sometimes will off by itself. the other 2 rito are working fine.

i read before to leave the mains on and only control the fan power with the remote.

but at the price point and 4 years warranty, its a good buy provided it can last me that long.

Wife prefer design over reliability but in the end gave in and  we installed 3 blades type kdk and paid it with climate vouchers wahahaha 🤣

I don't think it's an installation issue. when starting up it will make some creaking sound then once spin faster will stop.

Like maybe every few mins it will make the same sound. 

I have 9 fans in my house with 5 different brands, so I think the QC differences are pretty apparent to me. Fanco is the cheapest one I have.

i have 7 (4 different brands/models), and i thought that's a lot liao 😆

I think 2 of the brands i bought, prob no longer in the market anymore. Only left KDK, which themselves haven't been fantastic (or could it be my expectations are just too high?)...

Noted about Franco seems to be not too recommended. Will try to get others.

old apartment so my dining/living area has beams dividing it from what was originally a balcony. So i have 3 small 38" fans there instead of bigger ones. 

best decision ever to just saturate the place with fans. nowadays i go most homes and feel inadequate ventilation cos only the central part has the ceiling fan.

My KDKs at home also not v reliable. Within the first ~5 yr, The PCBs of all 3 had to be replaced, for different reasons. One of them required a second replacement earlier this year.

The repairman said that things don't last v long nowadays, so maybe other brands lagi jialat?

Which KDK model did get eventually? and how much?

you also have beams on the ceiling in the balcony? I could only install i think 32 in ones when i moved in, as the width left, was very narrow. The balcony is long, and there are only 2 fans, so the centre of it doesn't get much wind at all...

and did you convert the balcony into a dining/living area?

yeah it's just merged into the dining/living room area, done by the previous owners and a popular conversion in our estate. Most units have covered it up.

the original balcony is now my piano area + clothes drying/temporary storage area part of the living room.

I've narrowed down to Mistral, Acorn, Youkain (sub-brand of Acorn). My 25-year-old AC ceiling fan still works (changed capacitors once) but is rusting. Nothing else to buy with the vouchers except DC ceiling fan

Acorn no.1  bad thing is they start with default mode off. 

Power on only after using their remote.
Their remotes are RFID. Means the remotes if they spoil, is permanently paired 1 remote to 1 fan and cannot be swapped even if u have multiple models in the house. 

My home came with 2 acorn fans from previous owner. 

Shortly after moving in, BR3 one the remote died without it being mapped to a RF/IR blaster. So i junked the whole fan when they quoted $150 not inclusive of labour for a remote and need to change the RF receiver in the fan. 

BR2 one, we managed to map it to a RF blaster which can mimic the signal, cos the remote can only power on-off the fan but can't change the fan speed without the app controlling. Light button also cannot be pressed on the remote anymore cos sometimes suka suka can sometimes cannot. If cannot then the remote is stuck. So need to use Broadlink app via RF blaster to adjust fan speed on my samsung tablet. 

My MBR haiku now the remote is mostly dead (the receiver in the fan is spoilt). maybe the remote works for a short while every few days. So i just leave it at permanent fan speed 3.  So damn hot day like these few days, also can't adjust. 

These are the vulnerable parts of the fan i feel. The acorn and the haikus are all running very silent and strong after almost 10 years except this issue.

Prism plus selling their fan in shopee for 10cents. The rest top up with the voucher 😁
