Cycled to Changi broadwalk to explore. Certain sections were closed. Not fully flat, lots of steps to climb in between the boat slip at Changi Sailing Club and at Changi Beach Club. Rainy weather had to hide at bus shelter twice when it rained heavily.

Can see my tabao lunch on the bike.:D

Was there last week and can’t access not more than 500 meters from the ferry terminal and kind of slippery in this current wet weather

Can share where the bag was purchased? Is it compatible with Brompton adaptor block?

You asking me on my Brompton bag?

Its from Shopee, seller selling from Indonesia. Bought it during 12.12. Very sturdy but a little on the heavy side too cos of the hard plastic used. Not original Brompton, way cheaper than what Brompton is selling.

Then went to have McD breakfast. Only a Brompton can be rolled into the restaurant.

This morning finally got time to take my wife's Crius Master D for a spin along Changi Coastal road.

Very pleasantly surprised that can reach 2xkm/hr very effortlessly, help by the 22" skinny tyres and huge 52T crank no doubt. On return leg back to East Coast Park, manage to maintain between 30 to 38km/hr, faster than with my MTB! My experience overall is very positive. Used to feel lower pack "sourness" after pedaling for an hour at aggressive speed but did not feel that with this bicycle due to the very relaxed riding posture. I also enjoying riding more as neck feeling much better as no need to strain to look up any more, as else would be staring down at the road due to posture. But the negative effect is that the posture is not aero-dynamic or efficient for cycling, thus need to pedal harder than necessary. Also the smaller wheels offer little directivity. If I let go of 1 hand, can feel not as stable as my MTB.

Ok now want to suan those brompton owners abit. Have observed got many foldable bike owners nowadays riding along Changi Coastal road recently. Just today saw a mature couple stopped their bikes near the beach and did the maneuver to put their bromptons into parking mode. Can't help but feel the smirk on their faces haha. Actually any bicycle with side stand can just simply kick to push it down to park their bike, isn't it much more simpler? To me is very much a showmanship to show they owning a brompton haha. But I better not laugh too much as I might eventually settle on one later on haha. Definitely not now as the booking situation is really crazy.

Anyway I will prefer to stick to my MTB for now. This morning's trip had been only to try the bike out to see its potential. But really impressed no doubt about it.

I have both the crius and brompton and I agree the half folding part to make brompton stand is not as convenient as traditional bicycle side stand. That being said, it's because of the design that allow brompton to fold until very compact. Lastly, pike or 3sixty can also fold like brompton hor :D

Actually this kind of Brompton kick stand design is not exclusive to the brand, saw another MTB also come with this option.

I had also considered 3sixty while sourcing for the bike. Cheapest I can find is about $800 for a certain obiang colour while other colours from that seller asking about $900. But decided to get Crius instead as do not want to be blamed for choosing the colour and also the fact that this Master D variant comes with more superior features such as 22" skinny tyres and SORA parts and weigh only 10kg. I would upgrade the parts if I were to get the 3sixty to maybe 105 parts to improve the riding experience.

But I am still incline to go back the MTB route as I feel my objective has been to exercise and not just trying to get faster. My analogy is that the Crius ride like a jap car while my MTB like a conti car as it feels much heavier to accelerate due to thicker tyres and smaller crank so cannot go faster potentially. At this juncture, I rather sweat more and get a more strenuous workout. If my wife really ride her bike more frequently then I might get another foldie to ride with her. Another possible scenario would be for her to decide riding not for her and her foldie would be mine instead haha. So lets see how it goes eventually.
