Ixus 1st Gear September 24, 2012 Share September 24, 2012 Cos easier to hold for those with not so large hands. I think that's why apple made the iPhone 5 taller than the 4 but same width. i guess you just explained why Apple did not make the iPhone 5 screen bigger, even if it could ↡ Advertisement
Lala81 Hypersonic September 24, 2012 Share September 24, 2012 Actually i've nothing against the iphone. But the way Apple trumpets their so called achievements and sues other people for infringing on IP that they copied from someone else turns me off. Maybe that's why Samsung is turning hostile as well. lol.

Kar_lover Supercharged September 24, 2012 Share September 24, 2012 i guess you just explained why Apple did not make the iPhone 5 screen bigger, even if it could I already said that I know they can, they just don't want to. But 4" is still too small. To be honest, I believe apple is deliberately pacing their product development slowly. I m sure at some point there will be an iPhone with a screen larger than 4". Apple is slowly losing the plot, dishing out crappy map, remove youtube and proprietary lighting cable connector (why can't they use micro usb?). In short, it is like telling Apple users,"Do it my way (Apple way) or get out (Out of Google) of my way." I see it as pure arrogance. For now, bye bye iphone 5. Welcome $$$ in my pocket. Axela72 5th Gear September 24, 2012 Share September 24, 2012 i think there are two types of user 1) practical-ist. This group wants more features packed into the same device as long as it don't get to the stage of being difficult to use. 2) feel-ist. this group values on the feel good factor. I prefer: 1)Fast in surfing net; 2)Best camera & video phone; 3)Long battery life/Standby time. Which group does the above criteria belong to? We can argue iphone5 or S3 is better until cow come home but 1 fact which nobody can deny is iphone have better resale value than all phones. I will be getting an iphone5 tomorrow. Play with it for a mth or 2, and then sell it/trade in to get a Lumia 920 if I doesn't get use to it. Whose know, still can earn some cash out from it

Lethalstrike Turbocharged September 24, 2012 Share September 24, 2012 I toyed around with a friend's black IP5 after he got it yesterday. Honestly speaking, the build of the iPhone 5 is really solid and a pleasure to hold in the hands. Its quite impeccable. But sad to say, everything else seems to be so yesterday. The previous iPhones had sort of been there done that already. To summarise, i feel that the iPhone 5 is what the iPhone 4S should have been all along. Apple has quite a bit of catching up to do. For now, bye bye iphone 5. Welcome $$$ in my pocket. I remember people said the same back in the early 80s on the Macintosh. That Apple do it their own way while everyone likes the flexibility of the PC system. But then look at who is gaining market share in the PC business now. It is the Mac while all the other PC makers are struggling. So I think Apple tries to learn from their past mistake. If they go too advance like what they do on the Macintosh, mainstream pple find it hard to catch up and prefer other "flexible" systems. See..it took them nearly 30 years before pple accepted the Mac way. Hence, I think for now, Apple prefer to let other manufacturers do the advance stuff (for e.g NFC) and they will just watch while focusing on cutting-edge usability, design and reliability.. When the advance stuff starts getting traction, they will then implement it on their phone and utilizing their strong branding, they will still get strong ales anyway. It's not a wrong strategy from the business perspective. Look at LTE. Apple came into the LTE bandwagon so late, but the moment they announced it for ip5, everyone starts going wild as if Apple invented LTE. Mainly because LTE has already gained traction and hence gives Apple an immediate ROI. Edited September 24, 2012 by Icedbs

Theoldjaffa Hypersonic September 24, 2012 Share September 24, 2012 only issue i have is their organisation of google Play sucks. its hard to find something if you dont know what you are looking for. brudder.. it's google leh. u don't need to be orgynised. u just need to SEARCH using keywords. that's their b&b u know?
Theoldjaffa Hypersonic September 24, 2012 Share September 24, 2012 Bro...TV is a bad analogy la.....I mean you don't carry a TV around right? For me, 5.5" is way too big. I can't type with one thumb on a 5.5" screen...not sure about you. And I think most females will have problem using one thumb on the S3. No point only men appreciate it but you lose out in the female market. apparently i see more ladies than men using Note. 5.5" is too big to sms using 1 hand, but it's not an issue because i can always use 2 hands to sms. however, having more screen real estate equates to less squinting and scrolling..easier on the eyes. i can use 2 hands to overcome the size issue but i cannot snap on an auxiliary screen to expand the screen size. and don't tell me "if i want a big screen to surf net i'd use a tablet instead" because its the convenience of bringing out just 1 gadget, not 2. that said, i still prefer the overall performance of iPhone. i've used Android since the gingerbread days (ditched the crappy 3GS due to poor connectivity with bluetooth headsets) and i find android, with all the great specs and all.. performance is still not smooth. like my One X.. quad core seems no faster than my previous dual core phones like Razr and Arc S. but the openness of Android compared to the restrictions of iOS is something i appreciate alot. No longer do i need iTunes for everything and anything. Just plug and treat it as a USB drive. Copy and go. easy squeasy. summary, use what you like and don't bash others!

Elfenstar 3rd Gear September 24, 2012 Share September 24, 2012 I am basically a iPhone 3G then to iPhone 4 now considering Samsung Note 2 that is out next month.. Went Singtel to test the iPhone 5 touch & feel it.. So far personal feel that is really light and thin.. Design wise no wow factor.. Of course is faster.. I have nv use android phone before hopefully after switching to it I will get use to it.. I still think iPhone is easier to use compare to android haha.. Now still got time thinking iPhone 5 or Note 2.. Because I be re-contract 3 phones at 1 go.. So now still got time to think.. 3 phones? Get both lah Don't even need to think
Elfenstar 3rd Gear September 24, 2012 Share September 24, 2012 actually now Andriod apps not as bad as when it first started. now standard a lot better. getting on par with IOS with most of their Apps. only issue i have is their organisation of google Play sucks. its hard to find something if you dont know what you are looking for. You ah, like to be spoon fed. Just like google is your friend, the search bar on Google Play, the search bar on iTunes, and the search bar on MCF are all your friends ↡ Advertisement
