Have seen many of this kind of accidents the family get torn to shreds, I really pity them, bring up a son for so many years and the poor guy ends up... every time I hear such news, it rips a part of me, and reminds me of the days when I was active and saw such things happening, and attended the funerals as well. Even to this day, after close to 25yrs out from service, I cannot forget those who left prematurely. Never will there be closure, not to family, relatives and friends. i second that! young man with future in front. Every parents wants to see their children grow up get married and start a family. Evillusion Supersonic August 14, 2012 Share August 14, 2012 yeah... just to lower the carrier... thats how thick is it... so think until lower carrier also got problem my friend too... his team took easy way, walk in the river itself.... slipped on the mini waterfall rocks and broke his arm... lucky got clear land nearby... if not i dunno how he want to walk out my unit the carrier fall down whilst the body was being hauled up to the chopper. LCP Fahrurrazi to be flown back to Singapore in C-130 for military funeral today Posted: 14 Aug 2012, 1315 hours (Time is GMT +8 hours) The body of the late Lance-Corporal (LCP) Muhammad Fahrurrazi Bin Salim, 20, was found at 2:55am on 14 August 2012 in the Sungai Batu Apoi river, Temburong. One of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) search parties, which had continued the search throughout the night, found LCP Fahrurrazi's body about 200 metres from where he was first reported missing. LCP Fahrurrazi's body will be flown back this afternoon in a Republic of Singapore Air Force C-130 transport plane for a military funeral in Singapore. On behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the SAF, Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen, has written a letter to the family of the late LCP Fahrurrazi expressing deepest condolences for their loss. MINDEF is assisting the family in their time of grief. A full investigation will be conducted on the incident. His body was found 200m away from where he was first reported missing. His body is being flown back for a military funeral. wah damn sad for his family and friends. now see what kind of compensation saf give. it is never enough of coz but the show of support must be there.. hope he got buy the saf insurance tho. If you never serve NS or even join a military operation or exercise in dense vegetation, just STFU and don't acting like a smart alec... Searching for someone in dense vegetation is not a walk in the park consider the conditions or the area and the time he's found. My condolense to the deceased and his family. Singhao 1st Gear August 14, 2012 Share August 14, 2012 the one i use in the boat i attached to is the DIY blow job type. don't think it is SOLAS.. in fact, quite koyak when they handed it to me. perhaps they keep the best to themselves and give the lousy ones to soldiers attached from elsewhere? I was a boatman in army like the deceased. As I said, he's using the type that u need to pull the tab to inflate. Passengers use the same yellow/green life jacket but no gas canister. So u have to blow first and keep it on throughout the journey. No auto inflate expensive types for us. Maybe from now on they will change all. Army works like that anyway.
