Remember the bug eyed Impreza also intro a much earlier facelift? What was the reason? This is a facelift model for US market, not sure if ASEAN ones will get the same treatment. But if it is better, why not? In fact I felt FD civic should be in fact the new model whereas this generation shld be the one before FD. HAHAHA

Supersonic

Hope its based on the Jazz 1.5.

Which is DOHC, 132ps/155nm, GDI.

The hundred cc more could mean 140ps & 165nm. Though that would push it to Cat B, it does not make much diff does it? Guess being charged 140% arf instead of 100% for a couple of k should be acceptable?

Think it would be the AD's profit margin over 'total basic cost' that may kill it.

IMO, Civic should emphasis on 1.8 & 2.0L market, if equip DGI+TC+6AT/MT, as long as price lower the those conti brands, and profermance not loss, surely can gain some customers from Audi/VW, even low end BMW/Merc/Volvo, because Honda quality/reliability/maintenance cost win over Conti brands,

I do not think it will happen. Honda has had experience in direct fuel injection and turbocharging. And their conclusion was that direct fuel injection is not efficient at engine idling rpm in terms of fuel and emissions, turbocharging is not reliable long term due to leaks.

But right now European cars look more attractive coz of the higher engine power output due to force induction. To be honest it's more fun to drive compared to what the Japanese car makers have to offer.

The FL version in US will not be available in Singapore. That was what Kah Motor told me last year. Not that they don't want to bring in. I guess we have to wait till the next gen Civic if don't want the current version you see here.

don't understand, based on Japan technology and Industrial strength why they cannot resolve this pure technical issue? Subaru is the rare Japanese TC car maker

though Honda is returning to F1 racing in 2015, it's a good sign

However, I believe for Subaru, the coverage duration for the warranty is much shorter between NA & TC model for the same engine capacity.

Maybe they don't want their reputation for bullet proof engines to be compromised considering that TC engines are inherently more maintenance intensive. Notwithstanding, customers may expect the same levels of reliability on their TC models which may not be realistic.

Many are put off by the current Civic looks-wise inside and out. If they do not bring in the FL version, they would just sit there and watch new Sylphy, Altis and 3s being snapped up by buyers over the very ugly (IMO compared to the 8th gen car) Civic they are selling now. Honda is definitely not the tech and design forward brand they used to be, this 9th gen Civic is the primary example of that. Disappointing indeed.
