both has fault. But the driver has more fault due to the speed outside the TP HQ and small road is ranging from 50 to 70km/h.

Video showing 77km/h. Submit to tp it will find fault on the driver. Y nvr obey speed limit?

doesnt matter whos at fault. Wat matters is to never speed on the left lane. Id say car asking for it by driving so fast on left lane, n biker also dumb for not checking blind spot

Biker fault, but the speed of the taxi made it much worse. Guessing that this is a 50 km/h area, then 77 is really too fast for exactly the reason we see in the video - people sometimes do stupid things.

Shell Sala...

If that Shell priced their petrol S$1 above others, S$3 per litre, biker would just go SPC to pump petrol & would had avoid turning into Shell [:p][laugh] .

My take, biker would had been charged with careless riding while driver would ben charged with driving without due consideration for others.

In the end, TP deduct 6points and fine them S$130 each.

TP wins, both sala.

IMO the Bike is at fault. The Driver maintain his lane. Biker change lane without due safety to others. Signal done not mean you have the right to change to any lane you want, you have to make sure the lane is clear from traffic before changing lane and without causing others to slow down or because of you changing lane.

I've called TP before asking this question. "if i want to lane change and the other lane car purposely pick up and i accidentally hit the other vehicle, who's at fault. The TP clearly state that i will be in the wrong cos the other driver is maintaining his lane"

Anyway regardless who's right n who's wrong, the biggest loser is the biker.

And i can't understand why so many ppl say the driver didn't bother to brake, Pls la, there is something call lag time for gps to detect the speed of the vehicle. They think gps is really a speedometer meh?? kow.

Hope the biker survived ok. It looks as though he might have been run over...

Car was driving too fast to react. Can clearly see the motorbike is moving relatively slowly and the way the bike is angled suggests he was going to try something funny - i.e., "eat" one whole lane in a very short distance. Motorbiker didn't check his mirrors, maybe even if he checked, the rate of closure was too fast. Failed to signal. Oh ya, I never understand why bikers choose to wear all black when they ride if their clothing don't have reflective strips on it.

This video is already watermark by blackvue. It should be clear cut is the bike fault. But driver also like a bit speeding. Oh gosh, hopefully the rider is ok and not roll into the car undercarriage.

Maybe they can change rules to make all cars to be fitted with an in car camera provided by LTA, Open tender to purchase a camera for $2K and make all driver pay for the device whahaha..

Then they really BIG time winner, [:p] [:p]

If no video, can twist to advantage of motorcycle.

But with this video, definitely is the motorcycle's fault, unless the speed limit of the road is less than 70.

Those who say it's the car's fault, I wonder how many of you can anticipate that the biker would turn into the petrol station from lane 2 and without any signal. And how many can swerve away in time to avoid hitting the biker.

All normal road speed limit is 60, motorcycle at fault for not signalling his intention. Car sala for not slowing down in anticipation.

Please don't guess when you don't even know the speed limit of the road.

It's really like an attempt suicide for the biker....

"I wish to die, the car is near me, I will just turn"

How many out there don't check mirror and blind spot when you drive or ride...... It should be an instinct isn't it, even when I walk at crowded places, I will check blind spot before changing my path...

My other question is, did the car turn on it's headlight? If it did, the biker should have seen it 100% if he check blind spot, or even bother to turn his head at the slightest, else I would say it's really an attempt suicide...

Neutral Newbie

Base on one of the mod (think name of R***) theory plus some others....the taxi or the car driver is trying not to become road hogger as road hogger is an offence..so no choice he have to travel above speed limit of 60km/h..in order not to get caught for been road hogger...

so in theory (again..base on that mod plus some others)..the car driver is not at fault...

even the biker might not be wrong..cause he realize that he is a road hogger..so he had to move in to left lane to avoid kana caught for hogging offence..then he think maybe go petrol station is more safer..

When did LTA change the road speed from 50km/h to 60km/h for all normal road???

http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem...eed_limits.html

Unless otherwise stated, the speed limit of all roads in Singapore is 50km/h.
