but on a serious note........I was in guangzhou when SARS was first reported.............over there....... everything was as normal and no report what so ever............only get to know when I came back to SG.......... :wacko:

No reported cases of human-human transmission yet. So no cause for Stand to yet currently.

 

There's always been bird flu in the region. Indochina and indonesia always on-off been having fatalities from these viral illnesses.

well, i'm working in Shanghai and i can tell you that no one knows for sure how this is transmitted and from which poultry. they are slaughtering pigeons, chickens left right centre.

 

the advisory that its not human-human transmission is probably because at least for the cases in shanghai, there were no cases of the families/friends getting it.

 

However at least 4 cases were all in the same 20-30 mins travel distance of each other.

 

plus got loads of rumor flying around of more than 100 of patients inside the hospitals with this

SGH alreadly don't allow children below 12 years old and below to visit patients.

To be honest, I am kind of disappointed that there is no precautionary action or anything yet.

 

We should be taking an anticipative and preventive approach rather than a reactive approach to this. Just because there is no evidence of human to human transmission does not mean we should sit back and wait,

heard from a frd who just came back from zhuhai..

you need to quarantine for a few days from next week onwards after coming back from China/ hongkong.

can quarantine at my 'farm'.i will personally conduct check on them physically to ensure they are safe for 'consumption' :wub:
