Vhtfhwlego Supercharged January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 more disappointed ?Singaporean should not be disappointed with this latest incident. There hasn't been any malfunction of the train's doors as it's our safety precaution to halt the train as foreign object had been caught between the doors. It is definaitely not a sign of breakdown and as the mentioned train had been functionally properly before pulling into Redhill station. The foreign object is suspected to be left by the train users and investigate is going on to prevent the delays which is already not so common in the recent months. Darthrevan Supercharged January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 SMRT: No train service disruption at Redhill station on Friday night SMRT has clarified there was no service disruption at Redhill MRT station on Friday night. Responding to media queries on Saturday, the public transport operator said all passengers were indeed asked to disembark from a train that arrived at the station at about 11.06pm. This came after the train doors had trouble closing as a foreign object was jamming a door. The empty train left the station at 11.14pm. The next train arrived at 11.17pm and left with passengers from the station a minute later. SMRT said the object jamming the door of the first train could have dislodged by the time the train reached the depot. During inspection, the door could close. But as a safety precaution, SMRT is getting the doors checked thoroughly before putting the train back into service. Bystander50 5th Gear January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 If so, misfortune should befall the SMRT top dogs, not the common people. Bc'os it seems we are paying for their mistakes when trains break down & fines imposed Commuters should be compensated with at least 1 week of free unlimited travel if they are in the affected trains. Without any pain to them, things will never hcange or improve.
