Can this suv run on 92 petrol?

Since the price is so near to outlander, what makes you choose this 2.0ltr vs outlander 2.5ltr?

Outlander advantage is just bigger size, slightly bigger 3rd row, and slightly cheaper by 4k.

Other than that, XT has bigger Sun+moon roof, very comfortable seats, all round camera. Engine performance both are similar even though 1 is 2.0 & 2.4.. So XT attracts lower road tax.

Go try both.. and if the deciding factor is not the 3*rd row, high chance one will go for Xtrail.

Yeah, outlander looks good on outside, but not so good on the inside. However, I fee the drive is easy for outlander.

Not yet to try the XT yet.

I have not test driven the Outlander but read that they have improved the sound insulation on the new version. After you have test driven the XT can you feedback on sound insulation comparison for both? Thanks.

I am having a hard time deciding between the X-Trail and the Outlander. Test drove both...the X-Trail is more comfortable and refined while the Outlander is more powerful and drives better. Both car has its pros and cons.

C&C is currently offering 5yrs warranty with 5yrs free servicing and is $2k cheaper than the X-Trail. My heart is with the Nissan but they are making my life difficult by not offering any free servicing now. Only free solar film and car cam. Anyone got a better deal?

Nissan's service under NPMP is $1500 for 2 years(for X-trail). You can add $3k into the cost of the car to make it almost 5 year free maintenance.

But do take note. Nissan's NPMP includes all small parts and oil. Meaning, when you send your car in for servicing, you need not pay a cent, except for the battery.

You might want to check for C&C, the free servicing is free labour only or also free parts and oil.

Last you want is, free labour but they carrot you on the parts. Like EO for $200/4L. $300 for break pad and battery etc.

The free servicing from C&C includes all parts except for wear and tear items. So it's almost zero maintenance cost for the first 5 yrs. And if add $3k for Nissan free servicing, it means the price difference between the X-Trail and Outlander would be $5k.

In terms of dollars and cents, the overall cost difference between both Xtrail and Outlander is not far apart. Not forgetting you need to fork out more road tax for Outlander. Furthermore, outlander has lower OMV than Xtrail. Each car has its own merits. In searching for the best car in the beholder's eyes, it is how we value the merits over one another that make the car stands out from the rest of choices. I think in general the foremost when one chooses SUV is for its ride quality and spaciousness.

This is an interesting car reviews from China comparing different flagship SUVs. Lots of tests and reviews in the video. After watching these, I thought Xtrail was kind of an overlooked gem, amid my own beholder's view [:p]. Enjoy!

The xtrail tested is a 2.5 variant so for reference on the performance part.

This is another variety car show from Taiwan reviewing upmarket SUVs. For some of the reviews, it actually concurs with the China one. So from those videos I gathered Xtrail has undisputed ride quality and comfort. [nod]

If choosing between Xtrail and Outlander... The choice is clear that it should be the Xtrail.

Advantages:

1. both have similar depreciation.. Xtrail cost 3-5k more, but it's OMV is more than 3k more.

2. Xtrail has one of the most comfortable seats among the Japanese.

3. All surround view camera

4. Huge sun+moon roof

5. Lower road tax, identical performance.

6. Higher quality finish for dash and rest of car.

7. Better sound system.

8. At least a folding side mirror which outlander doesn't have...

9. Quiet interior over the outlander.

Disadvantages:

1. Outlander has better 3rd row, not big but at least it's not totally flat like Xtrail so young children still sits ok.

2. Outlander bigger boot when 3rd row is up.

3. Neater dashboard (also means bland look) bec the Xtrail dashboard looks cluttered after viewing for the 3rd time)

4. Better CVT gearbox for the outlander as Mitsubishi has integrated their CVt well over the years, more robust and performs better than the Nissan CVt. try going up benjamin shears bridge on a Mitsubishi CVT and Nissan CVT and the RPM is totally different.

I would have gotten the Xtrail if Subaru didn't have a turbo engine

It took me less than 30 secs to conclude that X-Trail is better value. 30 seconds to sit inside the Outlander to feel and view it's low class cheap looking interior. The interior is just as rough looking as the engine should be.

Spot on!

And one will not regret after getting the subaru XT given its spaciousness and monstrous power albeit its competitive price tag.

Same sentiments when i test drove both cars. The interior of Outlander left me a bad impression to begin with. The ride was also a bit bouncy. At the end of the day, except for the spaciousness, I couldn't recall any good points about outlander.

Of course, if one value higher power per dollars spent, it is also no fault to pick outlander. Generally, those chose xtrail over its quality, comfort and features packed package.

I totally agree that the X Trail is the car to get. Just want to check if anyone got a better deal from Tan Chong besides the free solar film and car cam.
