Looking at Daywalkers extensive list of cars :o I believe that criteria is satisfied [laugh]

With the current limitation on electric cars I would opt for either hybrid or just a normal petrol/diesel, I will keep staring to check the battery level every 2 mins not exactly stress free driving, only advantage I see is that you can park 2nd floor @ Parkway Parade.

For me, the 1st condition of getting i3 is own a landed property. Otherwise, no way gonna charge the battery except thru REX .

No worries about battery level lah. If you charge every night (like your mobile), should not be a problem.

For i3, it is REx. No worries about driving to Malaysia.

Nowadays, there is even plug-in hybrid.

Thanks, guys!

Yes the Singapore i3 has the "range extender" so i think to use it as a city car in Singapore should be fine. No range anxiety there...

Test drove the car and the ride is really silent and pick up is fast

Realized that there is a charging point in my office car park so that is a bonus haha

Cheers!

There's actually RHD Tesla Model S available... I reckon it's a matter of time before Tesla comes back to SG. Being a small city-state it's the perfect location for electric vehicles. A range of 300km on an electric vehicle is "puny" in other countries but can probably last you 5 days in SG, which is decent.

Hope to see Tesla back in SG once the government starts to really push electric vehicles as alternatives.

Tesla model S is unlikely to make it here...our LTA is highly unfriendly towards electric car.

The road tax for electric cars is calculated by power if the electric motor output more power than the engine, or when there is no engine.

Fully loaded Model S is about US$112k, so add ARF plus COE and any other taxes to get an estimated amount.

In short, unless you're going to get the Nobel Peace Prize for reducing pollution, it's just not worth it in Singapore. :D

A fully loaded i8 is around EUR 140 - 150k.

So, Tesla is not too ex if can afford i8.
