Your practise is

a) step brake and press the button to start immediately ?

or

b)  press the button twice to "ON" before step brake and press the button to start ?

step brake, press button. initially i press for a sec. did that way for many mths.

end up hold 2-3 sec. even so at times will fail when i release. was once when it died, and i didn't let go, and it fired up again.

i'm racking my brains, not sure if my dashcam is sucking power out of car. i set to shutdown at 12.0V IIRC

Car battery will weaken over time.  If the dashcam is always on and taps on the car battery,  it could drain it more.

If BM cannot solve the problem, maybe can suggest to them to change battery to troubleshoot.

Also, on the occasions where there are difficulties,  is there a pattern?

E.g.  the car park for more hours than normal  or  the car was in heavy traffic the day before.

BM tested, readings from computer all OK. can't arm twist them to change batt. i didn't think is dashcam, cos i set it to shutdown at 12.0 or 12.3V (can't rem offhand).

it's' random. perhaps i leave in MSCP for a couple of days. then start car.

if few hours break no issue.

doesn't seem right. shld have a black cover. you go back service centre as ask the staff.

Thanks. Don't seem right to me as well.

Have called the suppliers workshop - they said all parts have been fitted back.

Messaged Toyota to check and they have not given a reply yet.

Any 2013 Altis owner please post a pic of your opened boot. Is the back of the rear seat visible or should it be covered by a black insulation cover? Kam sia.

why not just drive in to the same service centre, take a Q number and then start questioning them? then they can see if it's right or wrong.

wait, yours is the new 2014 altis, or the last of the old facelift in 2013?

UPDATE (for the rest):

1) just sent my veh in for the complimentary touch up respray (1 year). chatted with the service staff.

their body/paint workshop is overwhemled. only left Pandan to handle whole island of body repairs/paint. they shut ubi cos paya lebar airbase is closing, and the area will be redeveloped. thus painting is no longer allowed.

they are not able to secure a big enough place in sg to house all repair/paint jobs. and govt thinking of relocating them to tuas. the new premises next door, will have a smaller area to work with compared to current premises.

yesterday had a lot of vehicles sent in for touchup etc. so i'm jammed in a long Q. plus those accdent cases. the long time taken is due to the sand down of the prev paint. they spray entire panel instead of affected area only.

hope i can get my ride out this sat. no promises. else can only collect mon evening. 4 paint techs to handle all jobs. at times if collect at evening, they sprayed in morning.

so those aiming for complimentary respray end of first year, please book in advance. be warned.

which brings me to the next qn.

2) since the Q is long, i may have to find a reliable paint workshop outside to settle my bumper scratch. they use nippon paint (saw when service staff and i walk to my ride to inspect paint defects). any recommendations? may also want to repaint the wing as well, to match the body color. the silver is a bit mismatch.

thanks in advance.

Mine no sound. Ubi closing down their workshop? Im sending mine in for free respray on may 30th at ubi. Will be paid by the marketg dept. Dnt knw why.

The service staff also told me abt the overwhelming driver coming to fixed dents and repaint before the one yr is up. So better go down to make yr appt

Silver what the damange for customised scuff? Dnt need those led ones. Also r u the one.talking abt anti roll and strut bars? Which workshop and who to look for?

Btw no one replaces their interior lights and carboot lights to Led? Mine was previously from luxer1. 9 leds but not that bright anymore. Try on the interior, so dark not as hot as the bulb type. Made in japan somemore. Lasttime so cheap. Now price double, nearest is jb authorised workshop to buy from. Anyone got other brands and where to get them? Thanks

Difficult for me to sneak out of office to go to Toyota in Ubi, lah

Mine is a SKK, 10th gen altis, probably the last few batches before the 11th gen ( cvt ).

This morning Toyota posted a pic of another altis boot, showing the interior is all black.

Later, they got a reply from their seat agent: They back of the rear seat was beige in colour as they did not have black! There is no other cover over this. Meaning their installation was complete.

I told Toyota, I need to find out whether the back of the rear seat should be the same material as the side wall of the boot.

not closed yet…….

u doing yours in ubi? i was told by hotline to go pandan. could yours be sent to pandan as well?

i replaced my interior lights to LED. front two lights above rear view mirror. i rem they use T10.

the one in middle of cabin use a dome 31mm. but most of the ones i got seem too big to fit into the socket.

the rear license lights and trunk boot light also T10.

hope it helps.

i had that problem on highway drive a few mths into my ride. go back service centre and feedback. they shld fix it.

UPDATE:

1) for those who don't know/aware, BM provide a year warranty on 3 dings/scratches. pls check the details in your documents. i'm sending my ride in tomorrow to deal with a ding, and respray engine cover and boot. will take about a week. still not decided on the front bumper (front mysteriously got scratched at corner during CNY).

please visit their bodyworks centre at pandan (the only one), to have a visual inspection, before the year is up. no need to call in advance. and then make an appointment (which the Q is about a month for me) to send in the ride. abt 3days per panel to spray.

2) i got a knock on my rear bumper around january. heart pain. a dent in the middle right at the bottom of the bumper. decided to get some accessories from taobao to cover.

i got lower chrome plates for my 4 doors (the ones that BM recently launched in their accessories), and also the chrome cover to cover that bottom portion of bumper. so if you see a silver altis with the black word ‘COROLLA' on chrome at the rear bottom bumper, it's me.

please note many of what they offer are for their local models (levin), so some things won't fit our model. damage was about 150SGD plus shipping.

3) for those with cold aircon issue, seems like after using it sparingly for a year, the aircon is not that ridiculously cold anymore.

also...

4) i have problems with cold start. very random. press button for 2-3 secs, sometimes it fire halfway, and dies off. have to press again. at times when i let go, the engine die down. have to press again.

already visited service centre, but they can't catch the problem. any fellow drivers have the same issue?

I am one of those whose car is 1 year old soon. My damage is paint chip on right rear door and dent on boot door. Send in fo Pandan for assessment on early April and allocated the appointment on 16 May. According to the bodycare staff that the downtime is 5 days.

autobacs v expensive. those near tyre section.

i got mine from ebay. mostly from china. but is pretty cheap. again is hit and miss. some are ok. some spoil easily. esp when you fit inside the license plate sockets. v little room for the bulb. so some contact with plastic cover may wear it down quickly.

many difficulties with the dome lights (middle cabin light). most of them sizing don't fit well. or not bright enough.

got a msg from BM Pandan on my respray (on bonnet and boot). will not get my car out this sat.

so collection is noon on mon. downtime for my car is 1wk. at least the guy tried. meanwhile i'll enjoy myself exploring the newer MRT lines, and more buses.

headunit: i gave up on the orig HU. my altis is early '15. panasonic. not v good. changed to pioneer set plus woofer and amp. and used a garmin GPS. and then use iphone to bluetooth the connection. mirrorcast i think only for android phones.

bulbs: ebay and taobao should be similar. as i said, its hit and miss (depend on who you bought from). just search. gamble with a few dollars purchase. i mentioned the sizes in earlier posting in this thread. you can find in manual as well.

so far the bulbs i installed in the car, no issues.

Manage to find those led that im taking abt. Giant or shops are selling ard $19 or more. The carboot light is juz too dark. Why until nw car still using those orange light bulb for the boot?

Eventually did you change? What is the base fit? I saw in the manual, it mentions wedge base. Wondering if its T10 or T5. Concerned about parastic power draw actually.

Ubi no longer do paintwork. All paintwork is done at the bodywork center next to Pandan Service Centre. I be sending my car direct to Pandan for paintwork when the time comes.
