To me, the speaker sound quality is good enough. Just need to adjust the front balance to F+5.

Agreed. Initially thght it is spoilt. Cos dnt hve the surround effect like the old altis. Can live with it.

 

Found some safety flaws with keyless entry. Stated in manual that if u started yr car engine, leave the car. Someone jumps into the driver seat, he can juz drive it off. Only when he off the engine then he cant restart anymore. Haiz. So missing the previous key and separate remote. I can leave the car engine on, take out the remote, lock the car and walk away. Now cant. I try locking with remote but it juz wont work. Will to read the thick manual for more details.

 

Anyways to on and off the leds? My SE say cant off. Quite nuisance cos when engine start but im not moving, the led will give me away. Then cars looking for parking will ask me if im gng out which in not. Very misleading.

 

Anymore new findings please share.

E.g. if u wish to operate yr radio, wipers, side mirror or window after engine. Do not step on brake padel. Press the start button once, u can open or close mirror etc. Press another time, u can wind down the window. Press last time to off it.

The original speakers sucks big time, my friend bought the twitters from bm and it sounds flat.. Haha! The original Headunit is quite good. I changed my speakers recommended by my installer Sky. Some German brand speaker that cost me around $400+. It comes with a set of two front speakers, tweeters and installation. Superb Sound!!!!

 

Actually, after using the tweeter for a few days, the sound open up.  To me, just need to adjust the front balance to +2 and bass to +2and it sounds good.  You may want to ask your friend to try.

Anyway for my audio i find the volume at front too soft so added 2 philip tweeter in front.

Got it done by a freelance guy and do some speaker tuning, cost me almost 200 in total

For mine,  when the car is started with the light switch at "off", the LED do not turn on.

Quite a problem. When driving. Even bluetooth to phone also disable. Juz dnt let u distract yrself while driving. Then the gps is worst of all. Google map juz beats its hands down. I went to iauto site but no update of the HU.

I will advise just do what you deem is worth it and don regret in future, even if its wrong just embrace and learn from it

Agree with such flaw on keyless entry. My SE told me the eng will  turn off certain period of time when driving, dun know true or  not also.

Toyota has wired the HU to both the handbrake and speedometer signal, and you need to ground these two wires before you can watch while moving.  If not, you can still hear the sound but no video on HDMI, Miracast, Mirror Link.  Bluetooth has no video so you still can connect with your phone to listen to music or do a phone call.

 

The scuff plate is quite nice and good length for the front but much shorter at the back (also because shorter space at the back).

I guess it depends on the tweeter you used.  For BM's pioneer tweeter, I find the sound too "sharp" if I set front to +4 and also feel less bass.

Manage to set the door to lock when geat not in park node. But the unlock all doors when i driver opens the door cant seem to work properly. Anyone change the carboot to led. Cant seem to find one that can replace it cos its juz too dark behind

I thought by doing speaker tuning all setting should be at zero . Do you have an amp

Yes, good to have a digital speedometer.  I never get used to analog type (eg. is it 80 or 90kmph?).  

 

I bought this HUD at about $60 at Qoo10, which is plug and play (into the ODB2 port below the steering wheel).   You can set speed limit alert to beep when you go over it.   It will auto power off once you shutdown the engine so you don't have to worry that it may drain out your car battery.  I project it high so that it does not obstruct my driving and still easy to see.  But need to set the brightness to max (+2) to see clearly under bright sunlight.  

 

Actually, I only need to monitor the speed as the rest of the info is not required all the time and can be quite distracting (since you can see on your car's dashboard).  So in the end, I cut out a black card and pasted it over the rest of the info and just to show the speed.
