Angcheek Hypersonic April 2, 2015 Share April 2, 2015 TS: plenty of advice has already been given... so nothing new to add from my side... except to say that financial planners recommend that a home mortgage shouldn't exceed 30% of a persons household income... if that's for an asset like a home... than for a depreciating expense like car, it should be surely less. BTW... I hate my plastic toilet seat... damn I wish it was solid gold. your dream might come true if you join NKF i wish to buy porsche 911 ... please help ... my only skill is sweep floor since spore best job wipe table has been taken and i dont think he is going to resign anytime soon hahha .... no 911 , u will still get Maserati

zerobim08 4th Gear April 3, 2015 Share April 3, 2015 (edited) My philosophy is very simple (but I am sure many in Singapore dont share this) Even if I can afford one I will think twice about buying one. Why? The price you paid is disapportionate to the actual cost/value/utility/OMV of the car. In short you are just feeding more money to AD and govt pockets without getting any real return. Voodooman Supersonic April 3, 2015 Share April 3, 2015 Car enthusiasts generally are just people who love cars. Since we are in a car related forum, I would say most of us are car enthusiasts. C-Class is not meant for car enthusiasts or true petrol head because it is an entry level Mercedes sedan car for the mass market luxury, a cash cow for the German marque, for people looking to dwell into the prestigious world of Mercedes Benz but cannot afford higher end models like E/S/SLK/SL/etc. You get a little taste of what Mercedes Benz, German engineering, styling, built quality and comfort is about.. but that's about it. C-class is meant mostly for people in Singapore who are probably there, but not quite, maybe need to stretch a little but feel the intensive need to tell others they have arrived, but usually have not If you must pick a car more for car enthusiasts or true petrol heads within Mercedes Benz, it will either be very old model or very expensive, most likely both *Pro tip: If you can't run a biz because you can't leave the comfort zone of your day job or you think you are not born with the necessary business acumen and foresight, property investment is the next best way to accumulating wealth. I thought C is moving a little upmarket within the Mercedes stable and CnC is targetting the premium mass market with the CLA, A or B class?

No_worries 6th Gear April 3, 2015 Share April 3, 2015 I grew up without a car as family wasn't well off. I used to envy my relatives who come to visit my grandparents in their private Cars. So one day I asked my dad why can't we have a car. He replied in hokkien. Le ai chia ho ai, dang le ka ki aey tang, Kah Lai pah sng bay chia ho, ka si poh tong . It is loosely translated, you want to eat good things, wait until you can earn then you can decide to eat good or lousy food. It has motivated me to excel academically and have a job that can allow me the privilege of private tran sport.

Voodooman Supersonic April 3, 2015 Share April 3, 2015 I think everyone is bored. I can't see why this thread warranted 17 pages of replies... Because this forum is getting sterile, must give credit to TS for his trolling skills, and TS' stated 4k income is way lower that of most forumers, making this a feel good thread? ↡ Advertisement
