Quick update for those who are considering the Elantra. My SE informed me that Komoco collected close to 150 orders for the Elantra alone, over the weekend.

Promo price of $86K ($8K annual dep) for Elantra GLS might not sustain for long.

2nd hand October 2015 Elantra (previous old model) selling for $97K ($10K anual dep)

Any bros who are driving the GLS or GLS 'S' models, did a steering wheel leather wrap-over? Will this void the warranty?

No lar... of course won't void warranty lar... you must alter the electronics or the mechanics of the car then your warranty will be void lar... this excludes changing the audio system. So don't worry too much about wrapping your steering wheel...

$86k is for the basic model?

Got quoted $87,999 for 'S' model and $94,699 for Elite model.

Not sure if the price is the same across different SE..

Not sure if the extra for the elite model is worth it.

@Yixiang1,

$86,000 is for the basic GLS model. But it is not so bare Basic.

Comes with Sports rims and leather seats, but without rear air con vent and some techno gadgets, which I feel is not worth paying an extra $9,000 for the top end Elite model.

If got to pay this extra $9,000, I'd rather go for a Japanese make like Nissan Sylphy or Toyota Altis which costs about the same price as the Elantra Elite.

didnt sign or book the vehicle..

But from the discussion with SE... absolutely nothing gonna be given..

So the question is, are there other SEs who could offer some freebies?

Price quoted valid till next COE bidding.

maybe i am somehow opposite..

i went to test a few jap car and ended up going for elantra elite because of the features and quality.

Was really surprising how much korea cars has improved in terms of specs and quality.

i believe those elite elantra user will agree if me.. if not there will not be elite user on the road lol.

So for this promo price of $94699, no freebies will be given. Which tier does this price falls into? What are the usual freebies given and if I wan these freebies what price of the elite version can I expect??

150 more people to fight for the next coe bidding. Believe next round coe should increase back to around 55k level. But if these 150 people opt for guarantee coe, think komoco still must deliver them a car based on the agreed car price.

dont think at that price level the coe is gtd...and it should be quite a low coe rebate level

U guys know how it works?

I believe u do test drive with SE Liao, u will b recorded under his account. Within a certain period of time, eg 1-3 months, if u buy from another SE, the commission belongs to the SE u did test drive with.

So I dunno how we can find another SE who offer freebies.

I have a problem if I dun really like the SE that served me. But did test drive Liao. So how can find another SE to buy from?

If you have a genuine grievance against the first SE, I believe you can appeal to the Sales Mgr for a change in SE but likely whatever first SE offered to you will be the same for the 2nd SE as AD will not want a situation where buyers use the offer from the first SE to leverage against the 2nd SE and therefore squeeze for a better deal. That's why most ADs have a "lock in" SE policy precisely for this reason.

If there is this lock in SE policy, then SE can no need to give a good deal cause the customer have no choice but to accept or totally dont buy from the AD.
