Turbocharged

This is the comparison card I took from the showroom today...

attachicon.gif20160329_164922.jpg

The price for the S and Elite trim didn't change. Elite still $100,999. The $3000 reduction is for the GLS model only.

wow. How the mighty K3 SX has fallen. Those who bought early last year got the best units (SX Sport).

Saw quite a few of the new Elantra in their homeland. Will post a picture later.

Oh? You're in South Korea now??? Nice!

I guess once the "new factor" wears off, dealers want to reduce the price of the car to attract sales. Only way to do that and maintain their profit margin is to start cutting things from the car...

Turbocharged

The bare steering wheel is used in the base model.

The other steering wheel is used in the mid range S model and top end Elite model.

Hopefully not...cos I think the new Elantra is a pretty well equipped car. Komoco did update Tucson with dual zone aircon, new head unit (Sony), price also dropped by quite a fair bit since it was launched in 2015. Dunno if they have stripped any features out though.

I think the margin is probably quite ok for the equipment level... if you compare prices with the last time when COE was low, then I think it is clear that the ADs are simply profiteering from the COE levels... they are earning extra margins by leveraging on the movement of the COEs. If you deduct the COE from the car price, and factor in the OMV, taxes, it's quite clear that they are making pretty large margin. So when COE drops, they can still retain that margin. That margin is not threatened by the COE drop. Their margin is always intact, whether high or low COEs. The only issue for them is volume. They need a certain volume to sustain their business.

Doubt there will be some own specs going on for Elantra as they are already offered in 3 different trims.

I think Tucson is a very good example. Somehow they listened to consumers and upgrade the HU, put in leather steering, dual zone air con and put on a competitive price tag.

The New Elantra Elite has a very impressive set of features. The new design also has a killer front grille and reminds me of the aston. I would highly recommend this car if it is going for 90k.

Just saw a SLC Elantra 2016 at my mscp, the styling is really damn nice.

No wonder my area also have people driving Sonata 2015. New Hyundais are really very nice.

It is going for below $90K for the basic model... only $85,999. The S trim is $95,999. Right in your ballpark. You will probably be offered some discounts, and then you're close to the $90K mark I guess...

Same same... hardly see any Sonata 2015 running around. Right now mine is the only one I'm seeing on a daily basis... yesterday at the zoo, I saw a SLA plate base trim Sonata 2015, same colour as mine. That has been only the second sighting for me. The first time I saw it on the road was last year, jet black and looking really impressive with all the lights on as it drove past me at the traffic lights.

Would consider an Elantra for my next change. It is one of the most beautiful sedans in its class, no wonder I see so many on the road. I thought the previous elantra was also quite nice, the 2016 model is even more stunning.

Wait till u test drive it, explore its features n hear the sound system.

The only thing holding me back is the pricing, lack of 8" touchscreen hu n absence of innermost rear led ring lights to form 3 "o" light rings per side.

Supercharged

Like i said. The cevs rebate thingy makes cars like jazz. Fit. Shuttles. Vezels. Qashai more attractive somehow.

U will notice no much new altis lately too. Prob failure lately due to also no cevs rebate.

No doubt kia k3 and elantra r nice. Best in the class for their top trim. But loses on fc n now elite for elantra prob priced a bit too high

Imagine a elantra elite witb a 5k cevs rebate and actual fc comparable to a vezel. Then this elantra will once again be top seller
