Yaloryalor 5th Gear October 29, 2015 Share October 29, 2015 Not too likely that the PI will want to go head to head with AD. Not likely?? Just Honda models along: In the past KM got Jazz and PI brought in FIT. Civic and Accord (JDM model) too. Currently KM has HRV and PI got Vezel.
Tcx607 4th Gear October 29, 2015 Share October 29, 2015 From the Tokyo motor show, Honda has confirmed Japan can order the UK 2015 Type R from Nov 2015 onward. I believe PI will be able to order from Japan distributor the same. Unfortunately, Japan only reserve 750 each from UK. Likely, some of the fan boy will get the hand on the new Type R soon. Keep a look out on the road

Spring Moderator October 29, 2015 Share October 29, 2015 Not sure if I'm on the same page with you guys but think it's confirmed Japan does not produce Civics anymore so it will be MIT and sold by AD only right? Can't compare with Jazz or HRV cos those 2 had a MIJ variant so I'm not sure why the talk of PI bringing in? Sorry If I've misunderstood the last few posts and I stand corrected, kindly enlighten, thanks!!

Blackyv Turbocharged October 29, 2015 Share October 29, 2015 At close to 130k already hard to sell. Just look at the numbers of civics on the road. 130k can get you a cat B car. i will buy a basic 2.0 mazda-6 over cibic with that amount anytime...

Currently KM has HRV and PI got Vezel. As I understand Vezel was sold by PIs before KM (AD) bring it in. I kinda remember Fit and Jazz as the same situation. (correct me if im wrong pls. Not too sure) Anyway I do retract my previous statement as it is generally wrong, since PI do bring in cars to compete head to head if there is a demand or a substantial price difference.

Sorry If I've misunderstood the last few posts and I stand corrected, kindly enlighten, thanks!! Yes, most PI only bring in cars sold in Japan (as they are already established exporters who these PI can work with). But the model sold in Japan might not necessary be built / assembled in Japan (e.g. Europe spec CTR and Grace aka City). So if the car is not sold in Japan, PI will not likely to get their hand on one (even if it is MIJ - case in point: CG1 Accord).
7hm Turbocharged October 29, 2015 Share October 29, 2015 The their lower grade HRV without stop/sart button cost 122k after 6k discount. I told them that theirs is SOHC (120 bhp) while PI is DOHC (129 bhp). The SE explanation is SOHC is better. It was like getting SOHC at 10k more? This is normal answer for KM sales... Yaloryalor 5th Gear October 30, 2015 Share October 30, 2015 As I understand Vezel was sold by PIs before KM (AD) bring it in. I kinda remember Fit and Jazz as the same situation. (correct me if im wrong pls. Not too sure) Anyway I do retract my previous statement as it is generally wrong, since PI do bring in cars to compete head to head if there is a demand or a substantial price difference. PI buying from the open market in the country of production. While AD are assigned to buy from which country the car manufacturer instructed. Forgotten to mention Honda Stream also. Not only Honda, like the Toyota Wish, PI was selling like hot cakes before BM brought it in after many months or year later. Today, I visit KM and their price list for current 1.6L civic is at 128k. What do you expect new Civic will cost? Below 130k? I guess between $140K ~ $145K.
Yaloryalor 5th Gear October 30, 2015 Share October 30, 2015 This is normal answer for KM sales... Many many years ago when I was shopping my first car I asked the same question about other cars was DOHC and why the Civic (back then) was SOHC. The lady SE told me their SOHC is better than others DOHC. Early this year, I went to KM showroom asking why the new Accord has the same engine as my CL7 which is more than 10 years old engine. The SE said this engine is so good that doesn't need to change new engine still can sell.
