@Kklee i think 98 more additives...more smell.

IMHO.
Perhaps.  My concern is more of whether it can combust fully given that the timing can only advance that much. 🤔

Same as why V-Power why sometime they selling at Fuelsaver 98 Price...just wonder why Shell have 2 types of 98 Petrol.?

Shell marketing?

Just like car manufacturers must have a Halo Product.

I think Shell has V-power in every market it operates.

But not all has the same octane.

Malaysia V-power is RON97

If Fuel-Air Ratio is correct..sure can fully combust.

Just drop to lower gear and drag at high rpm for a while lah...clear carbon with whatever ron...hope no need to go workshop for engine or gearbox overhaul...😂

Within 5 sec, you already exceed speed limit

Thus if AFR is a variable and to achieve full combustion, then it should be possible to have improve FC ( depending on design ) when the ECU either reduce the fuel or advances the ignition timing.

Just like the specific energy for different octane fuel can be very similar,  higher compression and more advanced in ignition timing can lead to more power.   Again, better FC?

🤔

this is my thought too 👍

Higher Octane allows higher compression ratio without knocking. Whether rpm is 1000 or 10000 the compression ratio remains the same.

Anyway who drives around at 6000 rpm all the time except chow bengs?

First time i heard RON100 allows the engine to hold high rpm for longer :D

Not surprising as most ppl here never use RON100 before.

I used it Mini as well as MYVI.

My car just popped up a "Top Up Coolant" message this morning.    I am going to buy a 1.5L coolant (red) this evening from a seller to top it up myself. First time doing this myself, it should not go wrong so long I pour into the correct tank right ?😅

I asked Seller if it is a premix, he told me to mix 50part coolant with 50part water ...but if coolant has been changed some time ago (like mine in 2022), then can just pour direct inside 🤔

Any advice ?

Just add water will be enough.

Get mechanic to check whether got leak or not.

Add water can liao ?  I am handing over my car to dealer this month ... so I didn't want to spend $$ going to mechanic.

I thought to just top up the coolant first and get rid of the irritating message on dashboard

Turbocharged

first time ah...

wait until the engine cooled down before opening the cap

fill to the MAX level, don't overfill it

if "Top Up Coolant" message appear again

send it to workshop, there is a leak somewhere

if that's my car

I will keep topping it up with tap water until I hand over to the dealer 😁

Seriously, why not let the mechanic hoist car up to check whether there are visible leaked water/coolant marks.

If wan to top up with just water, try using distilled water. Otherwise, mix 50/50 coolant and water is ideal.

My experience with leaking water coolant led me to change radiator, water pump with thermostat assbly and oil filter housing. Wear and tear issues.

The oil filter housing was critical for me as coolant is threatening to cross over to engine oil. Would have cost me much more to rectify. It was almost a near miss cos tot radiator and water pump replaced liao, all's well until a bit pool of brand new coolant was on the floor the very next morning.

Just sharing. Yours may not be as serious.

Stay safe

Cheers

NB : just saw that you intend to sell car/hand over to dealer. Haiz. Hope u getting a brand new ride. Me conscience no allow to leave problems to next buyer. Hopefully, dealer got conscience to do a proper repair. Fat hope.

But then, the golden rule is to standby at least $3-4k for repairs if getting a 2nd hand ride.

Thank you for the advice.  Ok I will try adding water after work, engine should have cool down and hopefully the message goes away.

Else will just try to add the coolant, the bottle cost only $13, so I don't mind buying.  But I will go with the advice to add water first.

My car is 9.5year old liao, perhaps water is the best.🤣
