Coolant level going down

Getting air bubbles out of the car cooling system especially European cars is time consuming and very frustrating for both mechanics and car owners.

Air bubble locks can result in overheating in the cooling system and without special coolant refilling tools it is just not possible to remove 100% of all the bubbles.

Many shops in Singapore have now employ innovative coolant refilling system tools to greatly improve their productivity.

changed the pipe today

since the intake manifold got to be removed to access to this plastic coolant pipe

I took the opportunity to ask the workshop to do walnut blasting to the intake ports/valves too

at 110,000km, carbon started to form at the back of the intake valves already

cheapo Shell 95 since new, with 1~2 tankful of malaysia petrol every year

this engine is direct injection only

so no petrol get sprayed into the intake ports to clean the back of the valves and intake ports

this one hard to say. each brand kaki kong kaki song. Unless you borescope the cylinder walls regularly, no way to tell.

For DI, carbon accumulation is normal regardless of Petrol used.

Nothing beat RON100

octane is octane and fuel additive to clean are totally different.

I know.

We have always been saying clear carbon.

With RON100, the engine can hold at a higher RPM.

Wouldn’t it be cleaner engine?

Higher Octane allows higher compression ratio without knocking. Whether rpm is 1000 or 10000 the compression ratio remains the same. 

Anyway who drives around at 6000 rpm all the time except chow bengs?

But but with higher RPM, both intake and exhaust valve will operate at a more aggressive angle.

In the era of turbo, who drive at 6000RPM?

You only get RON100 in Msia easily.

IMHO.
The question I have is,  with the same air fuel mixture but same ignition timing,
will a higher octane fuel have more complete combustion vs regular octane fuel ? 🤔

I took reference from sometime back, someone who de-cat,  during startup,  ron98 produce more pungent emission (by smell) over ron95.  IIRC.

Same as why V-Power why sometime they selling at Fuelsaver 98 Price...just wonder why Shell have 2 types of 98 Petrol.?
