Jamesc Hypersonic December 20, 2016 Share December 20, 2016 ya...everyday i surf mcf half the work day and i effectively doubled my pay I think MCF should pay us to post. Say 10c per post? SPH pay thousands to reporters to write and how many people read their writing? We only ask for 10c and thousands of people read our posts. Its a better business model. ↡ Advertisement

A_korusawa 5th Gear December 20, 2016 Share December 20, 2016 hi, all my worst interview; received news from very closed source role was taken internally just 2 days prior to my 3rd rounds interview fact was HR clearly stated in 2nd interview that it was for external candidates as there was no right contenders internally I proceeded to attend the interview . . . . the snr management gave me a fantastic picture of a new role (reporting to the role I applied) . . . . of coz I dun mind if remunerations remain status quo but bonuses & benefits were halved! I rejected them professionally, and delayed my reply to HR's request for my feedback on the interview I emailed to HR copies to all interviewers on my awareness for their changes 2 weeks later the snr VP sent me a ritz carlton dinner voucher which I returned them ...... my tot is - if got heart, then come and dine with me at my favourite zichar stall lahhhhhh! all companies are making nothing but money in order to go on! but we gotta recognise our roles - direct contributor, expense saver, future maintenance, conservation, catalyst/agent or pace-setter etc. then you gotta assess the company's scalability, growth/prospectus, focus, culture, structure etc. are prioritizing in the roles above to play your cards well..... of coz, you must understand your reporting lines in the interview for "guts feel" againt your trust/work along with the culture or legacy by the person (not the person!) lastly, are you doing your milkround or desperate/in dire straits? if the latter, then put your best oscar performance to blend in against your wil while commit to continue your milkrounds . . . .
Jamesc Hypersonic December 20, 2016 Share December 20, 2016 If you gonna get chopped you gonna get chopped you can be the best performer and still get chopped. Its just a numbers game. Anyway I am always happy when the hardest working people get chopped, those people always make me look bad.
Xanavi 4th Gear December 20, 2016 Share December 20, 2016 My worst interview was the guy want to decrease the transport allowance because he saw that I drove a van? My theory is, based on that, I should drive a ferrari and ask for a high transport allowance.
Noob79 Twincharged December 20, 2016 Share December 20, 2016 Pretty sure there are some kinds of bosses who actually like such candidates. Otherwise why do you think they are like that? Well, maybe some really need a job desperately... there are some who really share their plights with us too but sometimes, we really cannot help if they are not suitable It's just like how some people think the more you write for an exam, the more marks you will get. There was once when I has to present during an interview, the candidate before me ate into my scheduled time by 45 minutes. Even the receptionist felt bad and kept trying to check for me. After he was done, the bugger came out still yakking to the interviewers like still trying to score last minute points. Yeah, i encounter this situation before, sometimes, it really helps though, i once meet another fellow interviewee and when i start work, i realise that the company actually offer him a role that need 2 years of experience though... well, some people can really impress the interviewer through lengthy interviews...

Yeah I know what you mean. There's always a chance that the candidate gets more recall from interviewer due to longer exposure. I can't deny that this does happen in the office too... sometimes it's not about how hard you work, it's about how visible you are. Gives your name better recall when recommendations for promotion come up.

Can talk a lot and impress upon the bosses, but when it comes to getting the job done, job skills are questionable.
Victor68 Turbocharged December 20, 2016 Share December 20, 2016 I disagree. Why not step back and look at the bigger picture? Why high level people are doing this? I tell you why. It's becos the clients give them the budget otherwise they will go to your competitors who can not only meet their budget but also the expectations. The day the business loses clients it also the day workers have to go. It's as simple as that. We do not live in a world where workers call the shots. We got to realise that. Businesses got to adapt on whatever's that's changing. You cannot just sit back and look only from the workers' point of view and comment. isnt that what i am saying my friend? it is all about money and no feeling for the people working for you. so would worker also stay with you through thick and thin? having work for almost 40 years, there are big changes. i cannot say if it is for the better or worst but we may have to just embrace it. are you happy working? if you look forward going to work or miss you workplace when you are off for a few days, you know the answer. This is the kind of Bull Sitter candidate. Talk a lot as if they know everything, claim to do this, claim to do that, but actually experience very little capability very little and after joining everything also cannot do and don't know how to do, useless employee that only know how to fool people doing the interview. And that's exactly how I got my job.

Jamesc Hypersonic December 21, 2016 Share December 21, 2016 (edited) I reckon if my maths is correct that half the people here are below average performers. I reckon about 50% of the people reading this post are below average in their performance but I think more than 90% will never admit this. BS cannot last long; once or twice? when one is successful by his/her BS in getting what he/she wants, then gonna work into fundementals and knowhows to buid directions for the right track nowadays, as long as you are internet savvy, resourcesfullness, industrious etc. . . .. there's no way one can be left out from technical knowledge into what we dunno just burn a few nights or week's of midnight oil - many should be able to have a good grasp of the fundementals and with good technics in ''communications'' he/she should be able to provide THE directions... so, BS is not a bad things what's bad is user kept doing the BS over, over & over again w/o doing his/her homeworks. seasoned listener will know if its a BS, but its all about where this BS leads to . . . on this world. BS is inevitable what's incorrigible is BS forever . . .
