Not always true.

In North Korea, everyone is thoroughly fxxk ed to benefit the Kim. . But there is still genuine support.

Once domesticated . Cows will worship the farmer and be willingly milked and slaughtered.

But domesticated cows will never realise their real situation.

That's actually the problem. .

He will obediently be another part time MP. collect his $15k income supplements and director all over. Fabulous business lobang. .... oh wait.. . Another faceless millionaire coming. .

Wanted to praise you, but somehow got error 400 message..

Anyway, thumbs up from me for your above postings :)

61.2% vs 38.8%

once again it proves ... rally crowd does not turn to votes ... lol

Total electorate in BB is 25k plus, total valid votes is 23k plus.

These 2k plus don't bother to turn up.

But is good improvement form GE last year.

In fact SDP has improved close to 40% from 6588 to 9142.

When I was with my previous company, I sang praise of the products, services, company culture, vision, mission and values.

Now I do the same for my current company which has a totally different product & services.

I am still a decent and humble person too.

My point is everyone will sing praises of whoever pays for their work and follow the company direction.

This case is a whole company of politicians.

To me, what CSJ has put up on the last rally is really wayang to the max! Imagine even roping in his mother and coming up with a very sob story. Where is the violin player when we need him/her?

Too bad even the last stroke also no use, as the older voters in BB remember everything that he had done in the past.

Not I said one. [:p]

.

Anyway, shall we have some decency to accept this result and stop calling people names? Not everyone share your opinion of CSJ. Do not be a sore loser.

Win and Lost is common in a battlefield, no big deal about it. The important thing is that CSJ has decided to stay and fight on in BB, as he mentioned after the result was released. I hold he keep his word, start showing his present in BB from now on, walk the ground and let people know him better. Come the next election, go back and fight Mulali again, and hopefully start a base at BB. Please do not go fight in another GRC. You have next to no chance.

There is no need to get too upset, politics is a long term battle, things will change, maybe not now but surely one day it will change. One great leader is all it takes, maybe not in CSJ, maybe not in LTK, maybe the real game changer is still in School. Now is life back to normal to put food on the table.

The strong likelihood is that BB will be absorbed into a GRC. If what you say holds, he has no chance.

Such is Singapore. LOL. :D

Actually after accounting for the by-election effect and the fact that voters were voting without fear of losing the govt in power, i don't think the 39% victory is something to shout about. WP can prob send in Gerald Giam and win as many if not more votes.

CSJ has found hard but i feel that he has not fought smart enough in this campaign.

1) His early focus was on town council management, was hardly a selling point for the residents who are not much affected by it as compared to last GE.

2) He dwelled on the isa, which wasn't a good point to challenge when one of his own was arrested.

3) He talked about retrenchment benefits, which will be 80% paid by state and 20% shared by employees and employers. Would you want to have another cut off your salary? State funding means higher taxes for us all too.

4) His selling point was to work as a full time MP and for someone who isn't exactly on employment terms, this isn't that great a catch. This backfired.

5) He misread MOM statistics based on estimates in Jan but did he come clean that he misread it when new info was out in March? How would one expect the govt to be clean when one doesn't take ownership on one's own actions?

Jus because one is a DR doesn't mean that one is a know it all. One has to leverage on one's strengths and focus on it. Csj is spreading himself a little too thin with focuses all round. If he had just focused on a single aspect like eldercare, he may have won a few more hearts.

There were slipups by murali too like the one on govt funding for the projects. Unfortunately for csj, there wasn't something substantial for the cat to pounce on. Can't even recall anything significant that murali has done though. He stayed really low profile, no personal attacks on chee, and maybe that was the directive.

We expected the result anyway.

Yup, but every dog will have its day in the sun.. Eventually..

What's impt is not to give up n keep trying.. Then people will know you are genuine and not a one hit wonder...

Good thing is that with the votes swing, this'll keep the fascists on their toes that some are wary Liao..

I have always felt that character bad-mouthing is unnecessary during the election.

It just displays a lack of class.

So that's why he was so charming :D

We can talk till the cows come home but at the end of the day the PAP can do or say anything and still win the election. At least in certain areas. Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised to learn that a particular aggrieved husband might have voted for them notwithstanding any previous occurrences. :D

In most industry, competing firms will still have mutual respect and not bad-mouth competitor in the face of customers.

Will only praise my competition and further explain why my products are better. That would at least allow my customer understand that I do not purposely make my competition look bad.

People that kept bringing others down to make themselves look good, are in fact worse off.
